Love Potions and Fate – A Fan Fic Challenge
“Why are we here again?” Alice whispered, holding her arms close to her side, not wanting to brush up against any of the many vials and small plastic bags filled with unknown granules and powders.
“I told you Alice,” Dana shook her head in annoyance. “I can get some herbal powders here that help cleanse my blood, allowing more oxygen in…which helps my stamina.”
“Yeah, well…it’s creepy in here, so get your magic powder and let’s go.” Alice shuttered as she tried not to breathe in the musty, earthy smell of the dried mushrooms that permeated the Asian naturopathic medicine store. “It feels way too skipping through the forest in here, and you know how I feel about nature!”
Dana rolled her eyes at Alice, wondering how a woman who fights against those who discriminate against people for no other reason that their sexual orientation, could be so small minded when it came to other cultures.
“I don’t know of anyone who skips through the woods Alice, do you?” She said sarcastically.
“Okay, you know what? I’m just going to go wait in the car!” Alice huffed and turned, stomping off down the aisle. At the end she turned right when she should have turned left and by the time she realized her mistake, found herself in a dark, dusty back corner of the shop…a single light bulb flickering above her head, a thick layer of dust instantly coating her throat.
“What the fuck?” Alice whispered to herself as she felt the hairs on her arms and the back of her neck rise. She quickly turned to go back the way she came, but out of the corner of her eye she saw something that stopped her in her tracks. Leaning forward she squinted to read the small print on a tiny box shoved in between two larger ones on the top shelve.
Love Potion – One vile guaranteed to bring you love!

“Alice, I don’t understand why it’s so important to you that I meet Bette Porter,” Tina Kennard said as she leaned back in her plush leather executive chair.
“Besides the fact that between crazy writers and egomaniac directors my days and nights are filled with trying to get two different movies finished in time for Cannes…” Tina stopped to take a breath. “She has a reputation for…what is they say about her?” She raised her eyebrows in question to Alice.

I wish Bette Porter was on the plane when I threw up in the aisle coming back from vacation about 2 weeks ago. ;-) I was mortified to say the least.

Thanks Sea for this story. You still have the touch! It was hilarious and I love the way you write Alice. It must be true love if Bette didn’t mind Tina throwing up on her boots. I’m still giggling.

I love that Alice’s initial concern when Tina threw was for Bette’s shoes. That made me laugh out loud. Thank you for sharing.
