The Professor (6)
“Not conservative enough,” Bette smiled gently, having invited Tina into her home.
“Oh come on – I’m wearing shapeless boot-cut pants, a turtle neck, and I’m even wearing two pairs of socks in case you have a thing for feet!” Tina laughed, taking in the sight before her. Bette had obviously put some more effort into her appearance. “You look …” She knew she couldn’t say stunning, so she just cleared her throat. “Nice place.”
“You’ve already been inside,” Bette started, moving over to her couch and taking a seat. “I don’t take it that’s an experience you’ll soon forget.”
"Hey … why was she trying to sleep with me if she doesn’t even like me anyway?"
Bette’s heart was breaking for the girl who unfamiliar to Helena’s hurtful and menacing manipulations, but it would also be difficult for her to explain. “She … I don’t know. She likes to mess with my head. It’s what excites her.”
“That’s terrible.”
Finally realizing her manners and her hosting expectations, Bette got up and stepped over to the kitchen. “Did you want coffee or anything?”
Tina smiled at the courtesy. "Sure."
"How do you take it?"
With Bette’s necessary question, Tina felt warm inside all over again. Her adorable, sexy, clever professor was asking her how she took her coffee. "Black."
"Really? No sugar at all?"
Tina smiled as Bette disappeared into the kitchen, thinking back to the endless jokes her friends used to make about her sugarless coffees. ‘I bet if Ms Porter stuck her finger in it, you’d like it sweet then.’ Tina steadied herself and blushed at the memories. "No. Just black, thank you."
Bette started the coffee and leaned onto the counter as she thought back to her arguments with Helena, and her devastation because of it. She still couldn’t believe she’d been so blind. Had she really thought Helena could change? And being so deep in thought, when she felt two arms around her, she jumped.
"I’m sorry! … I just thought you looked upset."
After calming herself, Bette turned to Tina. "I’m sorry too. I’m just incredibly jumpy. It’s not because of you." She smiled at the attempted hug. "This is all such a mess."
"Well, not everything. I’m … glad I could be in it, actually."

Freedom!!!!!! At first I thought that Tina was a little too aggressive but then I noticed that Bette was holding back a lot behind her Fort Knox barrier. Tina did good, considering Bette’s reaction. I think that certain people, like Bette, would’ve told Tina to F’ off LOL. Thanks GR, loved it.

Wow ! I’m glad that Bette finally let Tina in. I know she was afraid but it’ll be much easier to deal with her issues now that she has someone to lean on. Things got pretty intense there ! Bette and Tina are some strong women because damn !

Poor Baby, I can dig how Bette feels. Vulnerability in any form is like blood to a shark. For a sadistic opportunistic like Helena it allows her to take out any form of confidence a person might have on themselves and disguise it as love. Lucky for Bette to have Tuna to lean on and open herself up to, no matter how difficult it may seem at the moment.Such a lovely story, Thanx Luv.

I love the honesty of emotion running through this chapter: both characters to themselves and to each other. Can I just say how sweetly erotic I find the line, “I just want to know you”

Grrr, my phone. I wasn’t finished. ” I wanna know you” was said by Maggie Gyllenhall’s character in The Secretary in a pleadingly honest. I like to imagine that Tina said it to Bette in much the same way.I also love how you wove in some symmetry from the Pre-stirfry sex scene in 506. I’m glad Bette is finally drifting further away from Helena, so that her mind (and bed) can accommodate more of Tina.

Bette finally freed her restrictions to herself and between her and Tina. And that was exactly the “sexual tension” people talk about!!! Tina is all about high EQ and great. You are always so good at describing those scenario and relationship. Thanks and hope for another update soon.
