"I could have made you my equal you know. You and I could have ruled this land"
Jodi tossed a fireball at Bette to which she easily dodged. It hit a curtain in the back and it easily caught fire.
"I would rather spend my days as a mindless slave than be your equal"
Jodi popped her jaw in irritation, tossing another fireball only to have it deflected by Bette’s sword. She glanced over at Tina who was still nursing an unconscious Amy before looking back at Bette.
"Do you really think this relationship of yours is worth all the trouble you’re putting yourself through?"
Without hesitation Bette answered, "Without a doubt"
Jodi raised an eyebrow as a smirk began to form, "Do you think you can protect her always?"
"Yes"
Jodi’s smirk grew wider as she tossed two more fireballs at the same time.
"Even from yourself?"
Bette deflected both fireballs but the second was thrown so hard, she nearly dropped one of her swords. She looked at Jodi, her eyebrows lowering with obvious confusion.
Jodi burst out laughing, placing her hand on her chest.
"Oh my God! You don’t know"
Bette blinked but didn’t say a word. Jodi turned to walk toward Tina and Bette immediately ran after her.
"Stay away from her!"
Tina raised her head from Amy to see Jodi approach. Jodi twisted her body to face Bette, her arm outstretched and froze the brunette in place. Bette’s eyes widened as she struggled like mad to break free from Jodi’s hold. The witch began to laugh.
"Relax, pet. I only want to ask her something"
As Jodi took a step closer, Tina removed a small dagger that was resting in a sheath strapped to Amy’s leg. Jodi looked at the small weapon and rolled her eyes clearly unimpressed. She crossed her arms and gave the Princess a very smug smile.
"Tell me Princess, did you ever find out who told me about your secret affair?"
