As Good As It Gets – Chapter 7

    4 Months Earlier

    "Hurry up, Bette! It’s starting!"

Bette scrambled for a large bowl in an overhead cabinet as the the timer on her microwave reached zero. She quickly pulled the out large popcorn bag from he microwave and poured it’s contents into the bowl before rushing to the living room.

Kit, Alice, Dana, Shane and Carmen were sitting around the large flat screen tv as the sounds of cheers were heard. Bette plopped down in between Alice and Kit as the fog effects from the performance that was about to begin covered the screen.

Kicking off the performance with her usual grace and flair, Helena emerged from the fog and took center stage. Dressed in a something that only Helena herself could design, she danced and pumped up the crowd before she started her song. The first verse of her latest song was all her which in fact surprised Bette that Helena even agreed to share one of her songs with anyone else.

A short while later, another voice could be heard though there was no sign of anyone else on stage. Well familiar with the new song, the crowd began to cheer loudly when they knew who was about to make a surprise appearance.

Just then, Bette and the others saw something being lowered from the top of the screen. It was a white swing and sitting on top was the owner of that sweet angelic new voice.

"Oh my God! Look! Look! There’s Tina!" Alice nearly pounced on the tv but Dana wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s waist and steadied her.

Bette was completely entranced by the sight, Tina was breathtaking. She wore a white dress that was cut up at the ends, the thin scarf like parts of the dress dangled off the side of the swing and moved back and forth as Tina swung her legs in the same direction. Her skin and makeup had traces of glitter that sparkled in the limelight, perfectly matching bed silver pumps. Her hair was slightly curled and held together in a twist that gracefully sat on her left shoulder.

"She looks so beautiful! Bette, are you seeing this?" Kit asked excitedly as she grabbed Bette’s arm.

The brunette couldn’t smile and she barely reacted to Kit’s sudden touch. She was hypnotized by the beautiful sight on the screen.

    1. OMG! Liah!! 😱You make me such an addict to your story! 😊And dont tell me that you also now addicted to end your chapter that way!! The way that make your fans holding for dear life on the edge of the cliff… 😱 😝 it’s not good for my little heart you know?! 😓 LoL 😜 glad to find the missing pieces of the story since last chapter, though it not answering all of the questions, but this is such a sweet and promising update. (regardless of how the chapter is ended-obviously) ;-) hehe.. PPVS as I am so looking forward to more to read and well of course I also prefer not to be left as the cliff hanger anymore ;-)

    2. The reunion seems to be going well so far… I sense there’s more to come. ;) I hope Wendy doesn’t turn out to be a total nuisance. She seems to be a little loopy, to say the least. Thanks for the post, Liah! :)

    3. Omg. What an experience. Both women have handled their situations with much respect. I liked how they came around. Now we can focus on being together. Great job Miss Liah, I understand it now 👋😝 thank you.

    4. Wouldn’t it have helped Wendy understand the situation if she saw Tina and Bette locking lips? I’m just saying… actions sometimes speak louder than words. Thanks for the posting.
