As Good As It Gets – Chapter 6

Bette paced the confines of her living room as she impatiently awaited Tina’s arrival, her cellphone in one hand and the house phone in the other. Every so often she would thoroughly check both phones to make sure Tina hadn’t called, her worries getting the better of her.
Tina was supposed to arrive five minutes earlier and judging by how upset she was, Bette was afraid that something might have happened to her. Just then, her doorbell rang and Bette’s heart skipped a beat at the sudden sound. She had already been beside the door so a second later she was already opening it and faced with a heart breaking sight.
"Hey . ." Bette said softly with an even softer tone. Tina’s eyes were red and puffy, her expression was one of pure defeat. The chest and neckline of her shirt was spotted with wet marks of previously shed tears. She looked completely exhausted.
Tina pressed her lips together as she tried to force a smile, Bette had to fight the strongest urge to pull the blonde into her arms. Though she knew Tina most likely needed it, she could tell the blonde was trying to be strong and it seemed inappropriate for the time being.
Bette moved to the side and gestured her hand for Tina to step inside, taking in the blonde’s sweet scent as she walked passed. She closed the door softly, for some reason she felt a need to be gentle all around.
"Would you like some tea?" She asked softly as she leaned on the door and watched the way Tina stood in the living room facing away from her, completely lost. It was painful to watch, Bette wanted to knock Sam’s teeth out for causing that reaction in Tina.
"No . . yes . . I don’t know. I shouldn’t even be here. Bette, I’m sorry" Tina placed her hand on her forehead and turned slightly. Bette could fell Tina felt torn between her wants and needs and didn’t want her to feel pressured.
"Hey . . it’s okay. I’m glad you’re here . . I rather have you here safe and sound than out driving in your state" Bette slowly approached the shaky blonde and placed a gentle hand on her arm. She took note the way some of Tina’s tension eased under her touch and tried not to smile.

Six months?! They haven’t talked in six months?! Life’s short! Time’s a wastin’!
ooooooo can’t wait for more, i got so wrapped up in that chapter. Finally Ava’s gone, and so is Sam now time has passed a lot of emotional work has been undergone now maybe it’s time to focus on what they really want, EACH OTHER! Let’s hope it eventually works out that way. You’re doing a great job Liah :D

Let me guess – Tina hooked up and got together with Helena. If so the story is definitely riuned for me.
Thanks Liah for another amazing update!! :-) first thing first…. “Bette held her head in her hands and stared down at the velvet box sitting on the coffee table.” and she didn’t think what would Tina felt or thought when saw it!? Was she really that blind or *cough* stupid?! Second, what do you meant 6 months later?! What happen in that half a year besides probably Tina sign up with planet?! They don’t talk anymore besides business or what?!? And last but not least… How could you end the chapter there!?! Such a tease!! … Now about Ava.. Glad that she finally out of the picture 👯 :-) and again… Is Ava the one who slept with Sam?! is she?! Is she?! :-0 ouch! So many questions on my mind as it seems that it’s not clear yet on what on earth is going on?! And it’s kinda ironic yet “funny” fact that actually all 4 of them are cheater!! No matter what is the definition of cheating and who is the most guilty one. The bright side of it is to let everyone back to square one again! And hopefully, from there they can have a fully fresh start! :-) towards a better future of course … (read as happy Tibette love story ;-) ) So Liah… Please pretty please do us a favor by posting update ASAP aka PPVS?!? :-) don’t let us hang in the balcony for too long as we might not survive the fall :-p so please come and rescue us before it happen :-) hehe…
Six months has passed? Did Tina sign on with Planet Records or turn it down. Can’t wait for the next post.

Tina made it in the industry at the speed of the Biebs. I’m happy for her. A Grammy nod which means that she may have or will go on tour? I hope Bette didn’t give in to Ava and they eloped. Loved this update Miss Liah 👋😘 thank you
Ava is out, Sam is out. But six months? I wonder if Tina still thinks that Bette has proposed Ava or maybe Tina had forgive Sam?
Well, Bette broke it off (or did she?) with Ava… that was a good thing. Tina seemed to say goodbye to Bette (or did she?), and that was not such a good thing. Six months have passed… I wonder what happened in the interim. It would be sort of sad if Bette missed out on Tina in her life in both a professional *and* personal capacity. Oh well. I’ll just have to wait and see how the story unfolds. Thanks for posting. :)
