    Chapter 11

It was early afternoon and they were all inside Tina’s office, as the agents patiently explained the security operation they had come up with for both the police officer’s funeral and the first day in court.

“So that’s all?” Alice asked a bit surprised.

“Yes, that would be all” Bette replied.

“And we’re taking every possible precaution?” Helena asked still concerned about their security.

“I understand your concern Helena, trust me I do, but this is the best plan we could come up with given the circumstances so I’m asking you to trust us on this one” Shane tried to calm the lawyer’s understandable fears.

“I trust you, you know I do” The blue eyed brunette said regaining some of her confidence.

“I think we know all that we need to know, we’ll be ok” Alice interjected this time, much to Dana’s surprise since the blonde was usually the nervous one.

“Great then, in that case we shall let you continue with your things” Bette politely said and started moving towards the door of the office not sure of what was going on. She couldn’t help but to notice Tina’s strange mood, she wasn’t talking much and she wasn’t making any eye contact either. This of course concerned her a bit but she decided this wasn’t the place or the moment to try and speak to her. Besides what would be the point in that anyway? Their only objective was to keep them safe, they were not there to make friends and even less to fall for them.

Fall for them… what the heck?? Bette raised both her eyebrows at her own thoughts as she was exciting the office, followed by her coworkers.

“Are you ok TK? You seem rather serious” Helena asked as soon as the door was shut.

“What?” Tina simply asked as she was startled from her thoughts.

“What’s wrong?” Helena tried again, this time certain that something was up with her friend.

“Nothing it’s just… nothing” Tina tried to stir away from the question at hand.

“Something is up, so feel free to speak to us at any given point” Helena knew what buttons to push before Alice would start with her sprint of questions.

“I don’t know, I mean all this time that Bette was here I kept on replaying the conversation we had earlier and… I don’t know”

    1. Thanks for another posting Anne!! :-) … No matter how many times I read the story, I always get the same conclusion… Need to put them alone in a room and … (lol no dirty mind here ok?!? :-D) do the interogation with lie detector attached! Because this lawyer and this agent basically trained to cover their true emotions … so let it out!! ;-) anyway PPVS and have I mentioned how happy I am to see your postings again?! :-) enjoy the weekend!!

    2. Its amazing how much ridiculous behavior could be prevented if humans would just talk to each other. Such precious moments are lost because of the fear of taking a risk. Too bad… Great update… Thanks,
