Turning Page
Before they would have any more chances to torture themselves, each one inside their own heads, they arrived to their destination.
“I think I’m gonna have a shower before dinner” Tina verbalized the first words since they had spoken in the car.
“Alright” Was Bette’s simple reply.
After having a much needed hot shower and relaxing under the water for a while, Tina was more than ready for a good night sleep but the sounds of her belly reminded her that perhaps it would be a good idea to eat something before sleeping.
The blonde decided to put on her pajamas and wrap herself around a very soft and warm robe. She headed to the living room area and wasn’t surprised to find the brunette agent behind her laptop, very concentrated on something.
“Have you eaten anything?” The blonde softly asked and Bette was brought back from her work.
“No, not yet” She simply replied lifting her eyes enough to find the blonde’s hazel ones.
“Would you like me to fix you something?” Tina shyly asked, unsure as to why did she care so much.
Bette thought about it for a few seconds before replying.
“No, I’m ok. I’ll grab something later, thank you Tina” The brunette was determined to put an ice barrier between them, since clearly their behavior or her behavior towards the blonde wasn’t a healthy one anymore.
Tina seemed quite disappointed at the reply and just nodded, turned around and went immediately to the kitchen area.
A couple of hours went by and Bette was still working.
“I’m going to bed, good night Bette” Tina said as she stood at the door frame that separated the living room area from the playroom, where she had been trying to watch TV. Trying was the key word since the blonde hadn’t been able to concentrate on much of anything except the brunette agent.
Tina felt bad for the way she had acted the whole day and the way she behaved in the car. It was clear in her head, that Bette was reacting to her actions, and truth be told she was missing their little cooking routine and the banter she shared with the brunette. In Tina’s mind Bette had come to a wrong conclusion and why wouldn’t she? After all, the blonde saw her own actions of that day as signals of coldness, distance and discomfort. But not because she felt disgusted or repelled by the agent, quite the opposite in fact.
“Good night Tina” Bette replied again lifting her eyes from the computer screen for only a few seconds, and again in her simple and uncommitted way of addressing people, something she had never had trouble doing until now.

Thanks for another posting Anne!! :-) … No matter how many times I read the story, I always get the same conclusion… Need to put them alone in a room and … (lol no dirty mind here ok?!? :-D) do the interogation with lie detector attached! Because this lawyer and this agent basically trained to cover their true emotions … so let it out!! ;-) anyway PPVS and have I mentioned how happy I am to see your postings again?! :-) enjoy the weekend!!

Its amazing how much ridiculous behavior could be prevented if humans would just talk to each other. Such precious moments are lost because of the fear of taking a risk. Too bad… Great update… Thanks,
