Nobis Pacem Chapter 3
Harley
Aerin adjusted the strap of her dark tank top again as we leaned back against the side of her swanky rental, gasping as we tried to catch our breaths in between bouts of laughter. She was still holding onto my hand, which she had grabbed a hold of as we raced across the sand. She reluctantly let go of it as she tried to suppress a yawn.
“Hey,” I said eyeing her worriedly after I regained my breath. “You don’t need to come with me, you know. I can drive you to your hotel and grab a cab from the hotel to go to the restaurant.”
She yawned again. That settles it. I told her as I reached for my phone, which had been in the body hugging purse that swung across my chest, “I better check with them first to see how much longer they’ll be over there for the next half hour or so.”
She reached across my body and stayed my hand, which had dipped into the purse. “Maybe not,” she said softly. The nearness of her made my breaths shallow, again, and her smile made my heart race once more. “Whatever this delicious buzz is between us,” she murmured, before kissing my nose, “it will keep me up, no problem.”
She inadvertently leaned into me as she reached for something in her back pocket. Our breasts pressed lightly against each other and caused us both to moan a little.
“Mmmmm …. wow,” I exclaimed softly.
She stepped back and took a deep breath, eyes shut.
Aerin opened her eyes slowly and murmured, “There is definitely a special electricity between us tonight, a chemical magnetism, maybe. And I’m wide awake now, after that,” she winked at me. “Still, I don’t think I’ll be able to hold my liquor tonight.”
I tried to swallow, in the middle of wondering what it would feel like to be naked together with her and pressing against each other, when she reached for my hand again. I let her hold my hand, felt my pulse race, and smiled at her. I focused on her sexy mouth that was slightly parted in an answering smile, fighting the urge to lean forward and kiss those pouty lips.

I really like the characters and where this is going. I can really feel Aerin’s struggle.
