Through The Years Chapter 3
Chapter 3
After hearing the bell ring signaling the end of her first day at the academy, Bette grabbed her book sack and turned to Tina who was standing up waiting on her.
”How are you getting home?” Tina asked as the two walked out of the classroom
”I have piano lessons today remember so I think my father is picking me up since my mom is at work” Bette replied throwing her book sack over her shoulders.
”Oh ok. Can I wait with you until he picks you up?” Tina asked causing Bette to look at her and smile.
”Yes. I would like that. And thank you for today and showing me around. I had fun”
Tina shook her head and waved her hand ”I’m glad you did but it’s nothing. I did have fun as well” Tina paused then snapped her fingers ”Oh wait! I am having a sleep over Friday night. Would you like to come?” Tina asked hoping Bette would say yes.
”I would love to come but I got to ask my parents. I’ve never been to a sleep over before.” Bette said honestly.
”Gee Bette. I’m sorry. You don’t get to do much of anything fun do you” Tina asked watching Bette shake her head. ”Well I hope you get to come”
”Me too” Bette replied looking down the street and back again ”I am going to be late for my piano lesson. I wonder where my father is”
Tina shrugged her shoulders and checked her watch. ”You are supposed to be there at 3pm right?”
Bette nodded her head.
”You only have ten minutes. Hold on and I’ll be right back” Tina said as she turned heading back into school leaving Bette standing at the curb.
A few minutes later a car pulled up in front of Bette and the passenger door flew open ”Get in Bette. My mom will take you to Ms. Elise’s.” Tina motioned and moved to the middle of the front seat allowing Bette to get in.
”Thank you Ms. Kennard for taking me. I’m not sure where my father is” Bette said gratefully although she was embarrassed and saddened her father didn’t pick her up.
”I tried calling your home but I didn’t get an answer” Mrs. Kennard explained.

Especially a mother courage and heroin be much liking me your story, I really like the chemistry of TiBette !! thanks for your incredible story.
Thanks! This is so different but I like it! About time Maxine is a strong woman in a story! All stories I’ve read she has always being weak and Melvin takes Bette from her. I pray not in this story! PPS
So glad Maxine is being strong. Poor Bette is about to have her world turned upside down
Wow! Maxine seems to be a woman
with a lot of attitude, she had a lot of courage
to let Melvin.
His story is already creating rhythm.
10 stars.
Ok i was scared for Maxine…good thing she stood up for herself…but what just happened…oh my
Wow, Maxime, you did the right thing, Melvin is a asshole, i hope she really can win the fight.
Poor Bette, or maybe lucky Bette, she maybe can finally live the life of a normal kids life.
Great update!
Great a story with Maxine the strong one, I hope!
Good storyline, super writing, thanks :)
Looking forward to more.
