    A Different L: Episode 1 Part 1

Los Angeles, specifically West Hollywood is different from other places. One of its prime examples is a man waking up on this morning to start his day. His name is Oliver Queen and years prior he had been stranded on island. Now, his life is different and he enjoys the seeming serenity of his West Hollywood neighborhood.

As Oliver prepares for his day, next door is a woman who had served as part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as one of its agents, but now has left that life behind in order to start a new one with her romantic partner. She is the now former FBI agent Elizabeth “Liz” Scott and she wakes up next to said partner, Barbara Kean.

Next door, Oliver checks through the house one last time while also checking his shirt.

His neighbors, Liz and Barbara are getting their day started. Liz has just indicated to Barbara that she is ovulating, bringing a grin to Barbara’s face.

Barbara: I suppose today would be a good time, then.

    Liz nods in agreement.

Liz: Yeah. Call him, let him know we’ll be there soon.

Barbara reaches with her right hand, stroking Liz’s hair and the two of them getting close enough for a kiss. Pulling back from the kiss, Barbara gives a smirk.

Barbara: Get ready. It’s a good day ahead.

Liz gives a light laugh as Barbara pulls away. “Today is the day,” she thinks to herself.

Outside, Oliver still appears to be waking up as he makes his way to the car parked at the curb. While doing so, his neighbors next door, Liz and Barbara have now exited their front door.

Barbara: I wonder why he doesn’t just park in his garage?

Liz looks away for a moment, noticing the sky and all else before shrugging.

Liz: I remember him talking about renovating it into something else.

Barbara: Oh, like a man cave in case in case-

    Liz nods.
Liz: Yeah, in case she takes over the rest of the house.

    Barbara shakes her head.

Barbara: Men are so paranoid like that.

Oliver sees Liz and Barbara and gives a nod to them as he enters his car. The couple wave back as they watch him drive off.

On Sunset Boulevard near the homes of Oliver and also Barbara and Liz is a cafe known as the Planet. Behind the bar and helping serve the patrons various dishes as well as coffee is the boss of the establishment, a young woman named Iris West. With a calm, but bright smile she finds herself among friends at the bar itself this morning. The friends in question are three different women with three distinct attitudes in life. One of them is still half-awake as she mixes her morning shot of java with a little bit of whiskey from a flask kept inside her black leather jacket.
