    When Tina and Bette walked in Kit and Sonny approached them. “Hey girls, we were looking for you.” Kit greeted them. “And we were looking for you. What’s up Kit? Something wrong with dad?” Bette was instantly worried. Kit saw the look in her eyes and reassured her. “No there is nothing wrong with daddy.

    When Tina and Bette walked in Kit and Sonny approached them.

    “Hey girls, we were looking for you.” Kit greeted them.

    “And we were looking for you. What’s up Kit? Something wrong with dad?”

    Bette was instantly worried. Kit saw the look in her eyes and reassured her.

    “No there is nothing wrong with daddy. But we need you to talk about the surgery. We need to have a family gathering. Come…………”

    Bette was about to follow Kit but was held back by Tina.

    “You go, I’ll wait for you in our bedroom.”

    Kit overheard Tina talking and turned around.

    “No Tina, your family from now on. So I want you too in this meeting.”

    Bette looked at her sister. With her eyes she told Kit that she really appreciated it that she considered Tina family. Then she  looked at Tina and her eyes were telling her that she didn’t know what the meeting was about. She knew just as much as Tina did………..nothing.

    They followed Kit into a meetingroom. Sonny was the last to enter the room. He closed the door and drew up to the table. When he sat down, Kit started to talk. She explained to them what the medical staff had told her and what her father’s chances were. She also said that there had been contact with the best surgeon in the field their father needed the surgery for. They explained the situation and he was on his way to do the surgery on their father. He would arrive tonight and start the surgery tomorrow morning.

    Everyone was quiet to let the news sink in. Bette was the first to break the silence.

    “What you need us for, Kit? It seems like everything is already deciced.”

    “Well, dad wants to undergo the surgery. I want us to be on the same page as he is.” Kit replied.

    Kit looked around but everyone had his/her eyes down. Tina looked up and saw that Sonny was looking at her. Somehow by looking at each other it seemed like they understood each other. Tina felt sucered by him so she opened her mouth to speak her mind.

    “First of all, I’m honored that you guys consider me family and I have a say in this. I think that if your father wants the surgery, we should support him and give him all the strenght we can give him by our support. Every surgery is a risk and of course your father is of age and he should’ve had this surgery earlier. But nothing happens by coincidence. I think this is the right time for the surgery. The best surgeon is available and on his way. So I’m in, I will support your father with all the strenght I have.”

    4. Fantastic update!

      I am glad that Melvin got through the surgery and will have a good recovery.

      It is important that both the girls have people, friends, family or in case of Tina Mr.Fairbanks around them to support them in their journey in life. Bette is already learning that it is important to communicate with Tina and others. She is insecure, but is taking small steps in the right direction. I understand that it is to early for the girls to share their lives at this, moment, they both have much that they need to overcome and deal with it. They can support each other but also need time for them self.

      This is a wonderful story! And i hope you will update soon.

      It seems that Bette will open your heart completely
      Tina. If talk about the past makes you well, go ahead Bette, otherwise Tina will respect the limit of your partner … more in my opinion, a tasty
      relationship is mutual trust between partners.

      I’ve had a re- read of this great story and two years down the line want to appeal for an update if it is only in the form of an Epilogue!
      Come on, girl brush off the cobwebs from your writing talent and put pen to paper!
      I need to know why I don’t trust Marina!
      I need to know about Big Bertha’s Twin brother!
      I could go on but won’t:-)
