    Kit looked at Tina and smiled. “Thank you, baby girl. I think the same as you. I think that we should support him. And you’re right, now that surgeon is available, it’s the right time for the surgery. Before he wasn’t. So I guess, although my father needed that surgery earlier, it had its  purpose

    Kit looked at Tina and smiled.

    “Thank you, baby girl. I think the same as you. I think that we should support him. And you’re right, now that surgeon is available, it’s the right time for the surgery. Before he wasn’t. So I guess, although my father needed that surgery earlier, it had its  purpose why it didn’t happen. The surgery is difficult as it is so now is the best time. I will support him too.”

    Kit looked at Sonny. He nodded his head. Sonny wasn’t a man of much words and he and Kit knew each other through and through. So the nod of his head was enough for Kit to understand. Kit turned to Bette who hadn’t said anything yet.

    “What about you, baby sis? What’s your opinion?”

    Bette didn’t answer. Tina looked at her and frowned.

    “Hey babe, what do you think? Now’s the time to speak your mind.”

    Bette looked at Tina with a blank gaze and then turned to her sister and her brother-in-law.

    “I get it that we should support him but I don’t agree with the surgery. You said, and she turned to Tina, that every surgery is a risk. How come that you can agree with such a risky surgery. Besides he’s not your father. Who are you to make that decision? But still you agree with my father’s surgery. I don’t know who you think you are to say something like that.”

    Kit watched her sister raising her voice to Tina. She needed to step in. Bette had no right in raising her voice to Tina. Tina just spoke out her mind, open and honest.

    “Hold on, Bette. I invited Tina to this meeting. I did that because as you told me, you are madly in love with her and you can see yourself growing old with her. To me that means she’s family. I don’t know when you will consider her family. So I’d say, stop raising your voice to her. If you don’t agree, you don’t agree but don’t blame Tina for anything because there’s nothing you can blame her for! She spoke out her mind and she’s willing to support our father. Something you as his daughter should do too.”

    “To add my say, Sonny’s deep voice said, it’s not our decision to make. Your father is the first and last person to decide. He wants to have the surgery. The way I’ve seen him since you arrived, he is very vivid. He wants to stay around for a few years if that is given to him. The surgery, although risky, can provide that. So even if we would vote against the surgery, if he says yes, they will operate. The only thing we can do, should do, is support him so that he’ll have a good recovery. So I totally agree with Tina and Kit.”

    4. Fantastic update!

      I am glad that Melvin got through the surgery and will have a good recovery.

      It is important that both the girls have people, friends, family or in case of Tina Mr.Fairbanks around them to support them in their journey in life. Bette is already learning that it is important to communicate with Tina and others. She is insecure, but is taking small steps in the right direction. I understand that it is to early for the girls to share their lives at this, moment, they both have much that they need to overcome and deal with it. They can support each other but also need time for them self.

      This is a wonderful story! And i hope you will update soon.

      It seems that Bette will open your heart completely
      Tina. If talk about the past makes you well, go ahead Bette, otherwise Tina will respect the limit of your partner … more in my opinion, a tasty
      relationship is mutual trust between partners.

      I’ve had a re- read of this great story and two years down the line want to appeal for an update if it is only in the form of an Epilogue!
      Come on, girl brush off the cobwebs from your writing talent and put pen to paper!
      I need to know why I don’t trust Marina!
      I need to know about Big Bertha’s Twin brother!
      I could go on but won’t:-)
