    Tina Says Good-Bye

    Tina Says Good-bye:

“Well, that’s it,” Tina said softly as she placed the last of her suitcases in the back of her car, her gaze sweeping past the beautiful garden she had worked so hard on, then to the sparkling pool the three of them had laughed and played in over the years, up to the house that she’d known was the one for them even before stepping inside.

Bette watched Tina as she took in their home and the grounds surrounding it, seeing both the sadness and hints of hopefulness in the woman she loved above all others. Tears flooded her eyes as she once again asked herself why she over and over again sabotaged the one relationship she craved the most. “I am so sor…”

“Please don’t,” Tina interrupted. “The time for apologies is long past.” Tina looked into the eyes of the woman she had hoped to spend her life with, her anger long dissipated, only to be replaced with resignation. “I knew long ago the chances of you remaining monogamous was small, so this time it’s all on me for living in all that denial. I’ve always known that sex is like a…” Shaking her head to erase her words, she continued, “no, forbidden sex is like a drug to you. Once it is dangled in front of you, you don’t have a choice, it’s truly an addiction.”

Bette bristled at the analogy. “So, you think I’m on par with a drug addict?”

Tina lifted her hand, gently cupping Bette’s cheek. “I think addiction is addiction, and I’ve tried to be the one to help you through to the other side, but 20 years and who knows how many lovers later, I have to admit to us both that I am beaten.”

Tina dropped her hand and sighed in defeat. “I can’t do it anymore, Bette. I can’t be the one enabling you by staying by your side no matter what you do, no matter how much pain your actions cause. I need more for me.” Covering her heart with her hand, Tina whispered, “I need to be enough.” Slamming the hatchback door closed, Tina’s tone spoke of deep sadness and pain. “We both know I’m not…have never been enough for you. So, it’s time for me to step up and set us both free from this endless cycle.”

    1. i have been challenging seahurst to write things for years and finally she listens to me. as always i love your writing and this is heartbreakingly lovely. you are too good a writer to keep away from the keyboard. hugs Allye

    2. This is a well written story…. it’s just not the Bette Porter in my imagination. Of course in this story, Tina is doing the right thing. If they have sought help and communicated with each other and made promises which were broken multiple times, then this is the path she must take.

      thanks for the story….

    3. Very heartbreaking. But i must say this story i believe more, than story Ally where Tina the one, who cheated on Bette. Maybe it’s because in TLW infidelity always be more sore point for Bette, than for Tina

    4. Thanks for coming back to writing, Seahurst! But as I already commented on Ally’s story I didn’t read your post. Can’t bare to read about B or T being unfaithful to the other.

Nevertheless I have to repeat what I wrote to Ally’s story: I’m sure that I’m not the only one who would be excited if you’d pick up writing Tibette stories again. With plots that work without the cheating or final separation part for T + B ;-)

    5. You tell a wonderful tale. This was beautifully written but heartbreaking that Tibette cannot remain together. I hope you will continue writing your romantic Tibette stories with happy endings. This Tibetter needs some comfort for her broken heart.

    6. Great to read another story from you even though the reason sucks!

Please write Tibette again here and let’s ignore the new Show!

Nice to read anything from you again, thank you
      SG

    7. Seahurst – this is the version I would buy. I don’t think Tina was convinced that Bette would be faithful at the end of season 6, and Bette certainly didn’t prove her worth by not telling Tina about Kelly. Getting back together was just to appease the fans; sadly it appears history is repeating itself with GenQ. Thank you for this story, so glad to have you back writing and commenting. Happy New Year!
