Nobis Pacem Chapter 7
Twenty minutes later, I boarded one of the SUVs to return to the resort/ casino we’d been in when we were visited by the five men, seemingly many hours ago.
I assumed one or both of the men who’d dropped me off could have been instructed to wait in the lounge check-in area of the hotel to watch out for me. So I couldn’t risk leaving the room in the same clothes I’d been in — I called down to one of the stores in the shopping area of the resort/casino, and asked for an outfit in my size to be delivered to the room. I said I would pay for it upon delivery.
Half an hour later, I left the hotel room, dressed in the new outfit, a sporty ensemble of Capri-length performance athletic pants, and an asymmetric-cut top with criss-crossed spaghetti straps in the back, and wrap-around shades. I also wore a ballcap, and gathered my hair in a loose pony.
I’d slipped on a pair of neon colored running shoes, which had the effect of lowering my height, as compared to how I looked earlier when I’d worn my heels.
I walked quickly through the shopping mall area of the resort/casino, and made my way to the monorail that connected the resort/casino to a few other resort/casinos nearby. I hopped out of the monorail when it got to the next casino, stopped by a clothing store in its shopping area, and made my way to the taxi stand after that.
I made it to the airport in plenty of time, and changed outfits again in the bathroom in the business lounge, having purchased a pair of distressed jeans and a plain sheer long-sleeved shirt in the shopping mall of the other resort/casino I’d taken the monorail to.
“You’re right Allegra. Love is the only reason I’m doing this for,” I whispered under my breath as I settled into the leather seat once I boarded my flight. I took a sip from of the scotch over ice I’d asked for from the flight attendant after I boarded the flight. “To love” I toasted an imaginary glass in the air.

“Did I push it too far, Sheryl? Is that it? When I danced that way on her lap?” I peppered Sheryl with a series of questions anxiously.

Ahhhh, that for which we all wish but seldom know., that one great love. Adore this story and the connection with the great couple, Bette and Tina. Ive been a silent fan, all along the journey, and enjoy your mix of thriller and romance. Anxiously awaiting their resolution and will enjoy the ‘ride.’ Hope they meet up with the NYC folks, especially Angie and TJ! :)
