    Permission to Love

    ’’I’m so sorry’’ she said.

Standing there in her embrace I never wanted her to let me go. Except she did, she stepped back

’’Come in, don’t just stand there, I’ve made the spare room up, I was hoping you would come here soon as I heard about your father’’ she said.

’’I can’t stay here’’ I tried to protest, in my heart never wanting to leave.

’’Don’t be silly that’s what friends are for and we are very good friends still aren’t we ?’’

    ’’Yes I replied’’

The lounge is just as I remember it, full of books and large open fire. We would sit beside the fire for hours once her grandmother had gone to bed, we would read poetry in winter and discuss the lives we would have. Daisy wanted to be a music teacher which she now was. She hadn’t travel as far as she wanted however she was happy or seemed to be. She had be engaged, they never married she never told me what happened. Now we sit here again on the floor. As she leans over to get the fire started her gown falls forward to reveal her small perfect breast, her nipple standing for attention against the soft fabric. I bite down on my lower lip lost in the moment. I wanted to reach out, touch the firm flesh brush my lips against her cherry sweet nipple. Gently pull them into my mouth. Abruptly I’m brought back to reality noticing her gown has fallen open slightly she tightens her belt and gets up from the fireplace.’’I’ll make some tea’’ she says. As I blush hoping she hadn’t noticed I had been staring or the effect she’d had on me. How was I going to get through staying here without telling her my true feeling, there was no grandmother to interrupt us and no excuses left.

The next morning I woke for a moment confused as to where I was, until I remember what had happened with a rush of mixed happiness as to where I had ended up, with Daisy. I’d laid in bed most of the night thinking about her wanting to go to her room. I decided however against it mainly only of fear of rejection. While I was dealing with my fathers death well enough so far, my emotions were all over the place. I headed downstairs to find Daisy busy in the kitchen she doesn’t hear me. Standing in the doorway watching her brush the hair from her face, while she stands over the stove small bubbles of sweat on her face, she wipes from her forehead with the back of her hand. Drawn to her beautiful plump pink lips as she hums a tune I recognize and smile. She must have felt my eyes focused on her every lip movement.
