    Moonlit, Episode 2: Daylight

    Moonlit by Jessica Knight

”You are a marvel.” Dominique said with just a little of a shy smile as she moved forward and brushed her cheek against Elisa’s, touching her arm down its length.

Elisa felt a little shiver of pleasure go through her. She’d noticed Dominique liked this sort of thing. Close, intimate contact, and she’d figured it was just a thing for gargoyles to do that with someone you liked. So she’d happily played along, and was, in fact, really liking it. ”Really? Well… that makes two of us then.” Elisa replied.

Dominique got a sort of bemused look on her face and uncharacteristically felt her skin heat just a little at the complement. She moved forwards and gave Elisa another quick kiss and took her hand again. ”Come. We should eat.” She told her softly.

Elisa smiled happily, a little amused too because she could tell she’d managed to fluster Dominique just a little. ”Okay.” She replied.

”Elisa…” Dominique asked as they approached the little park area in the square, Dominique pleased to see her usual spot, was, as usual, free (most people seemed to sit on the benches and such, or maybe on the grass sometimes, no one else seemed to like to sit on the rocks but her).

    ”Yes?” Elisa replied.

”Before… why did you touch me like you did, on my face…?” She asked as she set her food down on the grass by the rocks.

”Because I wanted to?” Elisa answered, a little confused, setting her own food down and taking a seat on the rocks as Dominique did likewise.

”No, I mean… it’s not typical, for a human, or at least I don’t think it is… but it is…” She trailed off.

    ”For a gargoyle?” Elisa finished.

Dominique nodded ’yes’, as she picked up her food and started to take it out of the plastic bag.

”Yeah, I figured that. Um, that’s why I did it I guess, because I… um, just thought you’d like it.” Elisa explained. ”Should I not have?”

”No, it’s not that. It’s… how could you have known to do that? It’s…” Dominique’s eyes met Elisa’s and she was suddenly rather at a loss for words. She knew it couldn’t be a trick by humans, because only another gargoyle would know something like that, but she suddenly wondered if maybe Fox or Puck had put some sort of… love spell on her, for whatever reason – It seemed far-fetched, but, when it came down to it, she honestly wouldn’t put it past either of them to think of something like that.
