Forever Together
“Of course we accept you Allison we’re your
parents” she said sighing. “But its not the natural way that God has told
us to live.” She continued. “Therefore you need to stop yourself from being
this way, and be the way God wants you to be.”
I rolled my eyes. “Mom think of it this way, God made
everyone the way he wanted to right?”
“Yes that’s right” She said, wondering where I was going
with this.
“Well gay or lesbians were born to be that way. Which means
God made them that way. So why would God make someone that if he didn’t
approve?”
My mom didn’t have an answer for this. Which I felt very
confident about and happy that I finally proved her wrong for something.
“Well if you have nothing else to say, I’m going to
sleep” I said and turned to walk up the stairs, smiling. I can’t wait to
tell Julia about this.

That night, my door opened. I woke up, startled. I looked at
the clock, 2AM, who would be coming into my room at 2AM? The stranger sat on my
bed. I noticed it was my brother. I pretended to be asleep. Suddenly he put
tape over my mouth. I screamed, but it was muffled.
“This is for your own good” he whispered “Mom
and Dad want a straight daughter not some gay one that will ruin this family’s
repetition, and that’s what you’re going to be a straight girl.” he smiled
evilly.
The next thing he did was… life changing.

Today was Monday. I couldn’t wait to see Julia. For one, I
needed to tell her something badly. I got to school and started searching for
her. I couldn’t find her anywhere. She wasn’t even in English. At lunch I gave
up looking for her. Was she ignoring me for what happened at Amanda’s party?
Worried now, I went to my locker to get my books for my next class. Luckily
Drew wasn’t there to insult me like he did practically every day. I skipped
eating my lunch, way too anxious. The last two classes of the day were
dreadfully long. Once the final bell rang I ran outside the school. So confused
and not wanting to go home, I went and sat up against the big tree with all the
carvings. I sat there long after everyone had left to go home. Suddenly someone
showed up at my side. It was Julia.
