    “Start talking or I’ll cut them off…. I’ll do it and I’ll enjoy it.”

    “Of course, Miss Davies. Maybe next time I’ll have the pleasure of meeting Miss Carlin.” he said smiling

    I hug him again and whisper, “I hope so.”

    After he leaves, Kyla says, “What a wonderful man. We owe him big time.”

    “I know and he’s going to get the reward. When I get Spencer back we’re going to go visit him and force it on him. Hell I might even double it.” I say firmly

    “That’s great Miss Ashley but now we need to discuss the other lead and a plan of action.” James says seriously

    “Okay James. What’s the other lead?”

    “Well, you received a package in the mail today and we opened it. It looked suspicious to us because it didn’t have any return address or anything else on it. I apologize for that. You know we never do that but I had a funny feeling about it. Anyways, when we opened it we found a letter and a video tape. He’s asking for ransom, Miss Ashley.” James says

    “Ransom? He‘s asking for fucking ransom?” I ask furiously

    “Yes, he is. Why don‘t you watch the video?” James says quietly as he’s walking over to the entertainment center to pop in the tape.

    Why the hell didn’t he ask for it since the very beginning? This is weird. I just don’t understand. He was selling the ring maybe he needs money to continue to hide her.

    James breaks me from my thoughts when he says, “Are you ready? It’s not pretty”

    I nod my head and the tape begins. After the flash of the newspaper my mouth goes dry and the tears start going down my cheeks. It’s her, it’s her. My god, look at her body and her face. She seems to be unconscious and that masked-half naked bastard is laying on top of her and kissing her neck. Then nothing. My mind starts screaming: HE TOUCHED HER! HE RAPED HER! HE’S THE ONE BEATING HER!! MY BABY GIRL!!! There is so much rage, anger, and feeling of futility in me because I couldn’t and can’t protect her that I have to let some steam out or I was going to explode. So I grabbed the closest thing to me which happened to be a vase and threw it against the television sending glass everywhere and screamed, “I’M GOING TO KILL THAT BASTARD MYSELF!! I SWEAR TO GOD IF IT’S THE LAST THING I DO I’M GOING TO FIND HIM, TORTURE HIM AND KILL HIM SLOWLY!!”
