Ch.10             

                I woke up early in the morning to find Carmen with her arms draped over me, head resting on my chest. I smiled and kissed the tip of her nose. “Mornin’, lazy butt.” I cooed. “Mmph.” She groaned into my chest. “C’mon, Carmen, school starts in like an hour. We better get home and shower and eat breakfast.” No response. I decided if she wasn’t going to cooperate, I’d make her.  I rose up from the cot with her in my arms, and dressed her. The candles from last night had all gone out probably due to the wind, and I was going to have to clean up after school today. I wrapped her up in the blanket and carried her all the way to my car. I know, with Ashley, I’d be the person being carried off, but, it’s not that way between me and Carmen. I gently placed her into the passenger’s seat and strapped her seatbelt on for her. Then I drove her to her house, dropping off at her door. Meaning I carried her to her door. That girl is just as bad as Ashley when she really doesn’t want to get up.

                It was still only 6 when I snuck back into the house. Thankfully, I had warned my dad I was going to be ‘out late’ so I wouldn’t get as much grief as I would if I hadn’t told him at all, but I still couldn’t afford to get caught. My mother would impale me onto the sharp end of something, I’m sure of it. I cautiously snuck up the stairs and managed to slip into my room undetected. Safe!

                When I got to school, I spotted Ashley by my locker. She had that look on her face. The I’m extremely-pissed off/hurt look. I sighed. Hopefully Carmen wasn’t skulking around or I’d have to face her after I faced Ash. NOT GOOD. “Hi Ash.” I said, trying to sound casual. “Were you with her all of last night?” she asked, demanding to know. “Yes, Ash.” I said, exhaling in exasperation. “You fucked her, didn’t you?” “Ashley, I-  ” “No, Spencer. Listen to me. I can’t deal with you being with her any longer, Spence. “ “Well Ashley, maybe you should resolve your little unfinished business with Aiden before telling me to break up with Carmen.” “ That’s the thing. I did.” I blinked in surprise.  “Yeah, I wasn’t lying when I said I wanted you and only you, Spencer.” Just then I saw Carmen round the corner coming towards me. “Listen, Ash. We need to have a talk about this somewhere else. After school.” “Fine, my house.” She hissed, before slipping away just as Carmen got closer. I swallowed. It wasn’t exactly going to be fun having this kind of talk at her house. On her territory.
