Chapter Seven: b) The Past and Present

"So explain to me again why we aren’t considered to be girlfriends until the 28th?" Ashley asked as she laid comfortably in Bianca’s arms; in her safe place. Every since their argument in the rain things had been great, Bianca had asked her out and they were spending Christmas Eve together just watching television until Ashley had to leave to see her family.

"Well you see, because the 28th is the perfect day. I met you on June 28th, so why have two anniversaries when we could have one huge one?" Bianca explained. She held Ashley from behind and changed channels on the television carelessly. Her whole life was about to change, and yet she had never been happier.

"Oh yesss…I remember now, thanks babe," Ashley tilted her head and kissed Bianca lightly. She then stood up, leaned over to kiss her belly, "You’re going to be as beautiful as your mommy." She told the three week old life inside of her beautiful girl that technically wasn’t her girl until the 28th, but she really didn’t give a damn.

"I’m going to get some water, want anything?" She asked sweetly as she played with Bianca’s long hair, when the beautiful, pregnant goddess shook her head ‘no’, Ashley kissed her forehead and began to leave the room whislting a new song she had wrote the other day for their child.

"Ash?" Bianca called, Ashley turned around with a smile and as she stood in the doorway Ashley looked back at her with that amazed look, as if she was seeing something wonderful.

"I love you," Bianca stated. She missed Ashley already and she was only across the room.

Ashley smiled huge, but she didn’t say a word. She wanted to say it, she felt it, but instead she crossed the room and knelt down by the couch and looked up into Bianca’s dark blue eyes.

"You know something?" Ashley started as she smoothed the hair from her beautiful blue eyes for a second time that night, "You’re the first girl I’ve ever dreamed of marrying."
