    Spencer sighed and put a hand on her back. Looking down at her swollen abdomen she wondered if she was having twins. Either that or she was having one very large baby, and her back hurt already. She sat down on the couch and put her feet up. She’d have to get up pretty soon, before Ashley got back with Elly. If the brunette found her on the couch they’d have that argument again. The one and only argument that they had, and it seemed to be a regular occurance of late. The quarrel where Spencer insisted she was doing just fine, and where Ashley insisted that Spencer needed to just give in and take it easy. The one where the musician offered, once again, to come stay until the baby was born, and then until Spencer was settled with the kids. The one where Spencer was sorely tempted to say yes, just to have Ashley around all the time. And hence her insistence on saying no. Absolutely not. She’d feel horrible, like she was using her friend. And also because it wasn’t for the help that Spencer wanted her around.

     

    She put her hand over her eyes, and closed them just for a second. She’d open them any minute, before her baby and her best friend came in from the community centre. Really she would.

     

    It was to the delicious smell of food cooking that Spencer finally awoke. She was still on the couch, but someone had gently covered her with a throw rug. Elly was sitting against the couch watching cartoons with the sound off and the subtitles on. Mr. Ruffles was delicately tucked under one of Spencer’s arms. He looked very comfortable. The blonde could hear someone rustling around the kitchen.

     

    Spencer stretched and sat up. The movement caught Elly’s attention and she smiled at her mother. Her heart doing a familiar little flip, Spencer leaned down and kissed her daughter gently on the top of her head. She tucked Mr. Ruffles back under Elly’s arm and left her to watch the cartoons. Padding across the floor she rounded the corner of the kitchen to find Ashley at the stove.

     

    “Hey, you’re awake!” Ashley grinned.

I really enjoyed reading this chapter. i’m not sure how you do it. you how you manage to hit so many of the theme’s in my life with your story, but you do. and you do it well. and addictingly. You’re the champion. You and Mr. Ruffles are standing up on that middle box with leaf hailos on your head and golden medals around your neck

    3. Ah, clomle. Clomle, Clomle, Clomle. What an excellent post. And I truly mean that. Absolutely wonderful. :) It’s great how Spencer doesn’t want to feel like she is using Ashley, and I love how Ashley is so persistent. Brilliant. And Gray should just go bury himself under a pile of work, never to come out again. Also, in my story I think you are under the mistaken impression that I plan to never write about sex…I do but I just working up to it. Maybe in 2 or 3 posts it’ll come. Keep your fingers crossed. And one more time: Wicked Post!

    6. YAY! You updated. Wooot. lol okay, so im just hyper. Like crazy hyper. But it’s fun reading your stories when im hyper. It’s so fun. and this chapter was great. I liked it a lot. Spence and ash going to visit the grave is going to be…be…idk yet. but it might be pretty intense. So….PMS, Please!

    21. great update…does a happy dance. you know clomle, many pregnant women are extremely horny in the second (and sometimes third) trimester. and they are very sexy…at least mine is. anyway, could be a possibility for some humorous tension for ya, or not. i’m sure you’re well on your way with multiple updates and a firm plan plotted out for these two. lovely job once again. thank goodness spencer is giving in a little, and ashley is finally grieving over lisa and not just feeling guilty. nicely done.
