    Broken – (Chapter: 1)

She carefully removed the framed photo from the spot it hung on the wall for years because she silently decided she can’t let go of this one.  Even if it meant it gets tucked away in a box in the back of her closet.  It may not be the smartest or the healthiest thing to do, holding on to what was, but she couldn’t let it get thrown out or auctioned off.

She made her way back to the front door with a small collection of various things she decided she wanted to take with her.  She loaded those few things in her car and she took one last look at the house she held on to for so long.  The house they shared together, the place she clung to wishing that just once the knock on the door would be her.   Five long years she hoped they would find their way back to each other.

A single tear fell down her face, this was it…this would be the last time she’d ever be back at this place.  The place that held the happiest memories she’s had in her life. It was time for her to close this chapter and try to start a new one.  She needed to let everything go, the past, her memories and try to move on.

She knew once the house was officially up on the market and the auction is announced both she and Ashley were going to be the center of a media feeding frenzy.  Just like when the news broke about them splitting up.  Neither talked to the press, they both released statements giving a generic reason and not elaborating any further.  There were speculations for all kinds of reasons.  They were both hounded for months, even now occasionally during interviews she’d be asked the reason they split up.  And like she’d done for years she declined to comment stating “the reasons are known between her and I, and out of respect for our privacy I’d like to keep it that way”.

“They were the golden couple, the Hollywood hottest lesbian couple.  One dominated the radio waves winning Grammy after Grammy, while the other appeared in the highest-grossing movies.  Each movie or Album out selling the previous, everything they touched instantly turned to gold.  Together they launched a record label and a movie production studio.”  Was the typical way most articles and entertainment news shows began their report.
