Broken – (Chapter: 1)
It all started when the media began asking Ashley where her rings where. She was able to suffice them for a little while by not acknowledging the questions. But that didn’t last long. The entertainment shows and magazines began their typical deconstructing of pictures, public appearances and stuff like that and began to put the pieces together. They were no longer photographed together and when some one leaked that Spencer had been staying at the penthouse for some time that was the last piece of the puzzle they needed and it seemed like all hell broke loose.
Getting out of her limo at Virgin records for an autograph signing, Ashley was bombarded with camera flashes and reporters pushing and shoving to get closer to her. All yelling her name trying to be the one she’d stop and talk to. In the past she would stop and indulge them a bit, pose for pictures and stop for a brief interview. Most of the time Spencer was on her arm, Ashley hated the spot light on her when she was not on stage. Spencer was always the one who made the paparazzi craze a bit more tolerable just for the shear fact she was able distract her from them.
This craziness was nothing like she had ever seen before, she’d hear her name yelled from every direction followed by “Where’s Spencer” or “When was the break up” to all kinds of things always leading back to they knew something was up. This time she allowed her security to quickly escort her into the safety of the building.
Sitting alone in the room before having to face fans she tried to gather her emotions, she wasn’t sure she was ready for this. The wounds were still deep and her heart still ached. She fought the tears that threatened to run down her face. A soft knock on the door forced her to put the mask back on she’d been hiding behind for a couple months now.
“Yeah” standing from the chair she was in and quickly turned her back to the door still regaining her composure.
A tall blonde walks in, dressed just as casual as Ashley jeans and a t-shirt. “Ash, we need to talk” Stacey her publicist sounding completely professional but gentle at the same time.
