    Camping

It was supposed to be a weekend escape. Ashley used to be a scout and knew all about camping. Spencer had been camping twice with her family. She never really enjoyed it, but a weekend with Ashley? She was so there!

She and Ashley had been friends since Spencer’s first day, but Spencer knew her feelings were deeper than ‘just friends’.
She and Ashley flirted all the time. For Spencer it was a way to see if Ashley felt the same way about her, for Ashley, flirting was part of her personality, but since Spencer had started flirting back Ashley had hardly looked at another girl.
It didn’t seem to matter how hard she flirted with Ashley, the brunette never crossed the invisible line.
At first it infuriated the blonde, but then she realised that it was out of respect that she never pushed herself on Spencer, she obviously valued their friendship too much, and *that* made Spencer all warm and fuzzy.

So this weekend was going to be the weekend she told, or better yet, showed Ashley how she felt.
The problem was, after their walk in the woods they were both completely lost. Spencer was sure the way back to the tent was to cross the stream and head east, but Ashley was insisting on heading in the opposite direction.
Usually she was content to follow Ashley, but this time Spencer was anxious to get back to the tent, she had a bottle of wine stashed in her bag and she planned to manoeuvre the conversation around to current crushes and give away her secret to Ashley, and maybe a little more.

Unbeknown to Spencer, Ashley had found a small clearing in the woods where she’d set a picnic table and two folding stools with the plastic knives and forks they’d brought, two candles and a picnic basket with some super sexy sandwiches she’d made earlier that morning.
She wanted to show Spencer how she felt, and she wanted to do it tonight.
She’d never noticed how stubborn the blonde could be, why couldn’t she just be quiet and stop questioning Ashley’s sense of direction?

Finally Ashley snapped "fine, find your own way back then", thinking her efforts not worth the anger she was causing Spencer. She’d think of another way to tell her how she felt. This was the third time she’d planned something and then lost her nerve. What if Spencer didn’t really fancy her and she just made her angry?
