    Ashley pushes Spencer over the edge.

    “Ashley…you’re right, you hurt me, and you broke my heart even though you promised me that you never would.” Spencer said “I gave you everything, and then you treated me like I was nothing.  When I saw you the other night with Aiden, it scared me, it scared me to know that you could turn into this other person when you drank; it scared me to see how unstable you were.  I was coming here tonight to give you back all your things because I told myself to get you out of my life…that you aren’t good for me” Spencer’s voice cracked.   Spencer stepped closer to Ashley.  “But now…I’m just so confused.  I don’t know what I want, or what you want from me.”

     

    Ashley looked up at Spencer, her blue eyes full of conflict, she held back the tears that threatened to engulf her in a violent sea of confusion.  She was thrashing back and forth among the relentless waves, desperate to keep her head above water.  Her hands were reaching out over the sea but there was nothing to hold onto.  If she let even one more tear fall from her eyes…she would drown.

    The tides of what her heart said she wanted and what her head said she needed would pull her apart. 

     

    Ashley stepped closer to Spencer.  She realized that the blonde was trying to stay strong, because she didn’t want to show Ashley how much she had hurt her.  But Ashley needed to show Spencer that she was the one whose hands would reach into those stormy waters and pull her out.

     

    “Spencer, god knows that I made more mistakes than anyone ever should in an entire lifetime, and I can’t promise that I won’t make any more, I need you to know that because I don’t want you to have any insecurities.  I want you to know that you want me in here.”  Ashley said burying her fingers on the blonde’s head.  “And I want you to feel that you want me in here.” The brunette said placing her hand over the blonde’s rapidly beating heart.

    “I love you so much Spence, so much that it feels like I’m dying saying this, but if you don’t feel the same way about me, I’ll let you go and hope that you find someone who makes you feel like you make me feel.” Ashley said. “Someone who will never hurt you the way I did.”
