    Ashley pushes Spencer over the edge.

     

    Ashley couldn’t bear to look into Spencer’s eyes anymore.

     

    Spencer wanted to forgive Ashley but she was so scared. She needed time. She didn’t know how long…it could be a week, a month, a year, maybe forever…it scared her how much Ashley could hurt her.

     

    “I need to go. I can’t do this.” Spencer said.

     

    Ashley felt her heart being stabbed. 

     

    “I understand Spence.  I only have one request.  Please don’t forget me…when you hear the rain fall, remember how much I love you.” Ashley said with pain in her voice.

     

    Spencer looked down and walked out the door.

     

    She felt the rain falling in her heart, but her head refused to listen to it.

     

    Spencer walked out into the hallway with her head full of uncertainty and when she reached the end of it, she swore she could hear the sound of Ashley’s tears hitting the floor.  Her heart clenched and she stopped walking.  God, so maybe she couldn’t make her head listen, but for tonight, her heart’s consent would be enough, she just needed Ashley so much now.

     

    Spencer turned around resolutely and walked back to the apartment. She opened the door and saw Ashley crying with her head in her hands.

     

    “Ash, I can’t tell you what I’ll want from you tomorrow, because I don’t know, but tonight, I know one thing, and it’s that I can’t walk away from you now.” Spencer whispered into her ear.

     

    Ashley looked up at Spencer and held her hand against her heart. “I’m so sorry Spence.” Ashley said.

     

    “Shhh, baby.” Spencer said reaching to remove the shades.

     

    Ashley moved back to prevent Spencer from doing it, but she was too slow.

     

    Spencer gasped at Ashley’s swollen eye.  “Ash, who did this to you?” she asked the brunette.

     

    “Close personal friends of Aiden.” Ashley said smirking. “Don’t bother to say that you told me so Spence, I was just too blind to see what was really happening.”

     

    Spencer touched the gash over Ashley’s eyebrow lightly.  The brunette winced slightly. 

     

    “Ash, you really will be blind, at least in this eye, if the swelling doesn’t stop.” Spencer said brushing Ashley’s hair away from her face as she inspected the damage.  Her eyebrows furrowed in concern.
