“no worse than the pain I’m already in…” I told her

“okay Ashley we’re going to need you to sit up and we’ll get the nurses in here to help move your legs over” the doctor said then the nurses came in and slowly moved my legs and I had to keep turning my body at the same pace they were moving and then I got too far ahead

“shit…” I said as my eyes filled with tears and Spencer came to stand by me

“we’ll go again when you’re ready” they told me

“okay…” I told them then I nodded and they started turning again and they held my legs out as the doctor lifted up the back of my gown

“now you’re going to feel a little pinch” the doctor told me and Spencer took my hand in hers and I just held it and then I felt the needle go in and I cringed but I couldn’t move “almost done…” she told me and Spencer couldn’t look she just held my hand and then about another minute went by “done” the doctor said and the nurses helped put my legs back in the bed and I laid back down

“can I have a kiss?” I asked her and she smiled

“you can always have a kiss” she told me and I smiled back at her “that’s the first time I’ve seen you smile in a week…” she said

“only because you’re here” I told her

“well then I’m not going anywhere” she replied kissing me and letting it linger

“Ashley…” I heard my dad say from the door and Spencer pulled away

“sorry Mrs. Davies…” Spencer told him

“no it’s fine…” he said smiling at Spencer “…you okay?” he asked me and I nodded “…did the doctor already come in?”

“yeah…” I told him

“…sorry I wasn’t in here with you” he added coming over by my bedside

“it’s okay dad…” I told him “…can you talk to mom for me?” I asked “I just…I’ve been harsh and I know that, but she keeps talking about everything that happened and I don’t want to think about it” I told him

“yeah hon…I’ll talk to her…” he told me “…and I’ll let you two be alone” he added kissing my forehead then he left the room and shut the door behind him
