Crazy Thing Called Love – (Chapter: Chapter Twelve)

“No, I didn’t,” said a stunned Spencer.  “I thought that maybe you went home first to catch up with Kyla.”

“Nope,” Ashley replied.  “I didn’t feel like going home first.  It wasn’t my intention to begin with.  I saw you that day with the jockstrap first before I saw my sister. I tried looking for the other places here where we put our names when we first started going out, but this was one of the few things where it wasn’t painted over or anything.”

“I thought you forgot about me and got over me or something while you were away,” admitted Spencer.  “Why didn’t you tell me this before?”

“Never,” Ashley responded with a smile.  “I didn’t really think it was a big deal or anything what I did.”

“It is to me,” pointed out Spencer.

“I could never forget about you,” Ashley stated.  “I don’t ever want to get over you. I never forgot about you while I was on tour.  You were in my thoughts and dreams.”

“I don’t ever want to get over you either,” agreed Spencer.  “I never forgot about you either while you were away.”

“Hey Spence,” Ashley began.  “Do you want to know what the deal with the blanket is?”

“Sure,” responded Spencer.  “What is it?”

“I’ll tell you once you see what’s there for you behind the tree,” Ashley stated.

“Alright,” said Spencer.  “I know you wouldn’t tell me the answer easily.”  Ashley chuckled.  “I’m looking for what, exactly?”  Spencer let out a light chuckle.

“You’ll see, babe,” Ashley replied with a smile.  “It’s a surprise.”  Spencer went towards the tree and saw a picnic basket.  Ashley followed Spencer and Spencer faced Ashley.  A smile formed on Spencer’s lips.

“You had this all planned out today, didn’t you?” asked Spencer knowingly.  “It wasn’t only reminiscing about the old days?”

“Yep,” Ashley answered.  “Nope, I wanted you to think that it was.  I wanted to make up to you for the time I was away so I brought us all kinds of food for us to enjoy under the official Spashley tree.”  Ashley put down a blanket for her and Spencer to sit down on.

“I can’t believe you would this for me,” stated a surprised Spencer.  “Thank you so much for today.”  Spencer cupped Ashley’s face and kissed Ashley.

“Anytime,” Ashley responded.  “There’s no time like the present to make up on lost time between us.”
