She stayed with me for the rest of the day…we ended up watching wedding crashers because I needed a good laugh

“such a good movie…”

“…I think todd  needed a bigger role…” Spencer said

“oh I totally agree…spence I have something to tell you…” I said trying to be serious

“ok?”

“I made you a painting…I call it celebration…it’s sexual and violent…I thought you might like it…” I said quoting the movie and she punched me in the arm

“you’re so weird!” she exclaimed laughing

“you love it!” I said then she stopped laughing and smiled at me

“what if I do…” she said looking into my eyes

“um…I…you should go…it’s getting late…” I told her then she looked at me as I watched her smile fade away and she got up and left…she didn’t say anything else she left and I stayed in my room then Spencer was almost in tears when she was walking through the kitchen

“hey Spence…you ok? what’s wrong?” Kyla asked

“um…nothing…”

“what’d Ashley do…”

“she didn’t do anything…I just…I made a big mistake…” Spencer said

“what happened?” Kyla asked again

“I uh…I told her I love her…and she just told me to leave…”

“oh…” Kyla started “…spence, she’s so afraid of serious commitment…ever since…”

“Brooke…” Spencer said

“yeah…she wont let her heart open up…”

“I just feel so stupid…I mean I cant help how I feel…but I have to go…in case she comes down stairs…” Spencer said

“ok bye Spence…”

“later Kyla…” Spencer said then she left and Kyla came pounding on the door to my room

“what damn it!” I said opening the door wanting her to stop pounding

“what the hell is wrong with you!”

“what are you talking about?!” I yelled back

“Spencer…you’re breaking her heart Ashley…” she said then I looked at my feet “…look what happened with Brooke is done with…she’s gone and I miss her too ok! but you have an amazing girl who loves you! She’s giving you her heart and you just…you stepped on it!”

“it’s just hard Ky…”

“yeah well it’s hard for all of us Ashley…I mean, Brooke was my best friend too…and I didn’t know her like you and I never will go through what you two went through together…but don’t you think she’d want you to be happy…I bet she doesn’t want you staying stuck on the past and she knows you’ll never forget her…Ashley you have to live in love ok…” she said “…people fight to get what you have right in front of you…so what are you gonna do?” Kyla finished then went down the hallway into her room and I ran down stairs and grabbed my car keys and texted Spencer when I got into my car
