DAWN: The unauthorized new finale to the Twilight series
CHAPTER 13:
CHECK UP
Edward and I spent a few more days of our bliss. I was amazed Forks had gone that long without raining on us. We used up the batteries for the stereo on the third day. Edward pulled out some extra, but I told him to just let it be. The sound of the stream was enough for me.
I wished it would never end, but it had to. The risk of staying out here was too great, so we finally gave in to going home. Edward threw me over his back and, suitcase in hand, ran me to the Volvo, and we drove home.
Although I would miss our meadow, it did feel sort of nice to be home. Or the Cullen home at least. When we entered the front door, Alice pranced up to us.
“Did you get it?” She giggled, asking about the blindfold.
“Yes,” I said, hugging her, “I love it.”
“I thought it would fit you well.”
Jasper sat on the bottom of the stairs, quiet and still. He was using his power on himself.
“We’ll see you later, Alice,” Said Edward, then he scooped me up and sped up the stairs, causing Jasper’s hair to slightly wave in the gust of wind.
I laughed as he put me on the bed. “What are you doing?” I asked, still giggling.
“I want you to myself,” Said Edward, kissing me.
“Hmm, can I have the receipt? I think I want an exchange.” I said, putting my finger to my chin, acting like I was thinking.
“I’ll give you an exchange,” Teased Edward, then he kissed me again.
Holding him to me longer, I sat up. Never pulling my lips from his, I took control. Before I knew it, I had leaned over so far that I was now on top of him.
“You’re getting very dangerous,” Said Edward, smirking in that way I loved to hate.
“You just wait until I’m a vampire,” I said, “Then we’ll see who’s dangerous.”
“OH! I’m so sorry,” Said a female voice.
We looked over to see Esme, holding a pan of brownies. Edward sat up, almost pushing me off the bed. “I’m so sorry, Edward, Bella. I-”
“It’s alright,” Said Edward, “It wasn’t going any further.”
