Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 32: Tic Tac Taco (Part B ))

She believed that Ashley’s politeness was sincere. Which it was because since Spencer, Ashley always became submissive and good natured to the people she needed to… for the most part anyway. It was easier to pull off to some more than others. Everyone would agree that it was hard to stay positive around a certain Paula Carlin.

Cecile put her elbows on the table and rested her head in her palms. “So. When are you going to tell your parents?” she asked with a smirk.

Spencer frowned, “What makes you think I haven’t?”

Cecile cocked an eyebrow. “Uh… the fact that your mother isn’t following you around with a Bible and throwing holy water at you shouting ‘Be gone evil demons!’”

The blonde covered her face with her hands and groaned. “My God, is she really that bad?”

“Uhm, duh.” Cecile reached forward and pried the girl’s hands from her face. “You can’t keep it a secret forever.”

“I know,” Spencer shot back quickly, attitude prominent in her tone; she backed off a little. “It’s not like I want to keep it a secret; I don’t. I just want to be with Ashley without having to hide anything. I know it hurts her; she’s pretty fragile.”

“Ahh…” Cecile tapped Spencer on the cheek in the form of a light slap, making the girl stare at her in confusion. “She’s a girl, Kiddo; we’re all fragile.”

Easy jogged down one of the long halls in his home headed towards his room, so he could grab his television and PS2.

Ashley had offered to just get up and walk to his room, so that he wouldn’t have to haul the equipment back and forth. He refused and told the sick girl to stay put and not budge causing her to groan dramatically. If anything, she wanted out of that Godforsaken bedroom.

The older teen grabbed his doorframe and swung around it into his room.

“Whoa, Bro!” Glen gasped, making Easy jump himself. “Man, you scared the shit out of me.”

“Same to you,” the older male said with slight attitude. “What are you doing in my room?”

“What I do every time we come here, Man. I’m playin’ some video b-ball. Have a sit and play me.” Glen held up the other controller to him.
