From Life to Death and Back Again
I always knew that I was dreaming, always dreaded going to sleep and seeing it all again. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't make them go away. My subconscious must be a glutton for punishment I figured. It had gotten so bad and happened so often the screams that tore from my mouth didn't even concern the boys anymore, well at least they didn't come running to wake me anymore. Tonight however was different, a completely different dream and who knows where it would take me.
I was walking in a forest, strange, I was not a big outdoorsy person I loved my city of Seattle and I hardly ever left. Looking around at all the green and brown surrounding me I climbed over logs and weaved through the trees. I wasn't on a path and had no idea how I knew where to go let alone where it was leading me. After walking for what seemed to me like forever I saw a break in the trees and heaved a digh of relief. Give me industry and shopping malls over this nature stuff anyday. Ducking under a final branch I pushed myself out into the clearing. The sky above was grey and it was raining hard, plastering my hair to my face in just minutes. Oh great, if this hadn't been a dream it would become one heck of a bad hair day. Movement then caught my eye apparently I wasn't alone. The meadow was large but I could still see the figures at the far end. Shrugging I jogged towards them. I had almost reached them maybe 200 feet away when I stopped dead in my tracks, I could really see the group standing seeming to be waiting for me and there was a lot of them too I counted eleven of them but thats not what made me stop. I stopped totally freaked I could admit it because the eleven figures that faced me were all vampires! There was no way I could fight off this many, one for sure no prob, two i could probably handle but 11? Who's ever heard of a coven of eleven anyways they usually killed each other off WAY before that. Cautiously I looked at the group again and blinked, I was wrong one of the figures was human. What, I am totally at a loss now I took another step forward and all ten vamps crouched ready to spring. I flicked my eyes back and forth three of the vampires were off to one side snarling ferociously, one a redhead looked so catlike I almost laughed. The other set looked more defensive than anything else and that was where the human, a girl, stood looking quite comfortable considering she was surrounded by monsters wanting to kill her. Looking at her her skin flushed and brunette hair just as soaked as mine was our eyes met my smokey grey ones with her chocolate brown ones and I felt for her.
