    This is not what I need.

                I now have to deal with the fact that Spencer found somebody; somebody she sees herself with in the future.

    I don’t know where the time went, but I find myself at LAX once more, saying another emotional goodbye.  I don’t know if I can handle this kind of devastation every couple of months.  I watch the two of them disappear into the airport crowd and I surprise myself with a smile.  If I have to lose Spencer to someone, I am glad it is her. 

     

                I drive excitedly back to campus, because I can’t wait to see Dani again.  I am not sure when she is coming, but I know it will be sometime today.  I make my way up to my room and open the door quietly.  I walk in and find her fast asleep on my bed, holding a stuffed animal.  I climb onto the mattress and begin jumping up and down to wake her up.  When she becomes aware of the situation she begins laughing.

     

                “ROOMIE!”  She pulls me down and into a hug, shaking me back and forth in her arms, squeezing tighter with each word, “I…..missed….you…so….much!!”  She finally releases me from her clutches and sits up.  “So….how was the break?  Did you spend lots of QT with Spencer?  Huh?”  She nudges me, “Huh?  Tell me the details.”

     

                “Yeah it was great.  I got to hang out with her and her new girlfriend.”

     

                “Bummer!  See I told you not to send her off not knowing, but you don’t listen.”

     

                “Yes, because an ‘I told you so’ is exactly what I need to hear.” 

     

                “You don’t love me because I hold back what I think!”

     

                “True.  But just for a change of pace you could at least try to empathize.”

     

                “How can I empathize; that would mean feeling your pain.”

     

                “Yeah, and?”

     

                “I WOULD HAVE TOLD HER, therefore I can’t fathom that kind of stupidity, and therefore I can’t empathize.”

     

                “God I missed you!”

     

    She was right though, she didn’t hold anything back from me and she said what was on her mind.  For the first month I lived with her, I thought that was just how she was, but as time went on I realized she did not act that way with many people.  I guess I am one of the ‘lucky’ ones.

    1. I knew it! I mean if people don’t pick up on this it’s because they are not smart enough. The clues are so clear, crystal clear: 1. You said that this was different than memories. What could be more different than a futuristic fic with clones? 2. Jesse looks like Ashley 3. Jesse has no feelings, just like a robot 4. Spencer does not care about Jesse much And the clues go on and on and on. Now this new one, Spencer’s clone? Of course spencer put her there, to complicate things. Or maybe it was Dani (ohh and the plot thickens) I know I’m runining ALL your surprises, but what can I say, I’m a very smart reader. Anyway, another great chapter.

    2. Clones are too unpredictable…Ash hooks up with some engineering students and they create a Spencerbot…now there’s futuristic…and they all live happily ever after :-) Ah, but where is the drama in that…and it’s been done on Buffy :-(

    3. I completely feel for Ashely right now. I am a first year college student right now, and I am also on the volleyball team. So everything is even that much more hectic. I know how everything can almost just hit you at once. And its not only stressful, it also makes you second guess yourself like…is this where I really belong? Is this for me?? I guess I am more talking about me now more than Ashley! Anyway, maybe a relationship (sexual of not) would be good for Ashely right now, she needs someone to turn to right now, especially if Spencer is not there (although you know how much we all wish she was!!). So fantastic writing and I anxiously look forward to your post as always!!

    6. aw, it was nice of dani…she’s a good friend, but i think she should let ash move on by herself…or a least not push her too hard. although, i couldn’t agree more on the things she said…another great chapter, as usual =)

    7. DAMN…how’d things go from being so nice to fucked up??…well dani kinda does have a point, i think it would have been good for her to go hook up with a clone of spence…then go visit…i wanna see that happen…ohhhh lol j/k but yea she needs to get a grip…no joke post more soon! i love! : )
