    Are you ok?

                Given the emotionally exhausting nature of the day, we both fall asleep on my couch before the second movie ends.

     

                “Hey!  Wake UP!!”  Dani yells loudly into my ear.  I squint in the blinding morning light and look at her through partially opened eyes.  She is sitting next to me with her legs crossed Indian style and I can not imagine why she would wake me up.  My body is contorted into the most impossible position and I ponder for a moment how I managed to sleep like this.

     

                “Is somebody dead?”  My hoarse morning voice comes out almost as a growl.

     

                “Your voice is so scary in the morning!  Come on get up, I’m hungry.  Last night’s Chinese food isn’t gonna cut it.”

     

                “What time is it?”  She checks her watch.

     

                “It’s almost 9:30.  I want a hamburger.”  Having lived with her for a year now, her seemingly odd request does not surprise me, nor is it that unusual compared to some of her other early morning cravings.  “You look really uncomfortable by the way.”

     

                “I am.”  One of my legs hangs off the edge of the couch while the other is bent so that my foot is tucked underneath my thigh.  I am sure if I tried to move it, the pins and needles in my foot would be unbearable.  I have an arm buried behind my back to the point where my hand is visible on the other side and my neck is crooked to the side to accommodate the angle of the couch.  As uncomfortable as I am, I am genuinely afraid to move in fear that I will disturb all the dormant aches that this position has created.  “Did you see the end of the movie?”  I try to distract her so she does not make me move right away. 

     

                “No.  I remember something about them finding a cabin in the woods, but after that I have no idea.”

     

                “Yeah the cabin got sucked into the sky.”

     

                “Cool!  I wish I saw that part.” She smiles, but the smile is replaced in seconds with a look of pure annoyance as she raises a couch pillow.  “GET UP!!”  She launches the pillow and it flies at me narrowly missing as I duck away, falling off the couch in the process.  It probably would have been a smarter idea to take the hit from the pillow.  I wiggle around limply as pain shoots through nearly ever part of my body, but everything feels heavy and weak so I am powerless to move.  “Are you okay?”

    1. OMGOMGOMG A talk… finally, a talk! And while I say that, I’m also getting this weird feeling, y’know, the one you get when you’re watching soap operas? Whenever something hopeful presents itself, you get excited while at the same time you brace yourself for the wait because it will probably be drawn out.     2. ok so i dunno if you noticed…but I finally posted hehehe of course not as good as you, but im planning on doing some more and doing the whole follow in your footsteps thing…lol, but this chapter, well it was…mature, well a level up for ash anyways…as for this whole phone call situation, well its both good and bad, she needs to stop and think about what shes gonna say…then call lol. But great post…as usual bleh lol…i know can say that i know how difficult it can be to post more….and i understand now, lol so as soon as possible please!!!

That is how addicted I am, I need popcorn and coke to read it! Loved it as always and as always can’t wait for your next post….that will consist of a phone call to Spencer!
