Haunted – revamped
Bella felt whatever pressure was holding down had lighted up a bit but not much. Edward seemed to fight with whatever seemed invisible to her. Bella still felt that her breathing was not under her control and the longer Edward fought , the more things were turning black. Bella didn’t even realize that she had passed out until she felt the cold rain on her face.
“Bella? Bella, can you hear me?” Edward shouted.
“Edward?” Bella asked his name, confusion in her voice.
Edward picked Bella up and put her in his car. It took only seconds for him to reach the house that the Cullen’s lived in.
“What happened?” Bella finally managed to ask.
“There was a ghost in your house. Are you all right?” Edward asked.
“How did it get in my house?” Bella asked. She wasn’t sure if she could answer his question just yet.
“It probably followed you or your father in.” Edward said.
“What are you doing here? I thought you weren’t coming back until tomorrow.”
“I just had a feeling to come back. It was a good thing I did.” Edward said.
When they walked into the house, the other Cullens were already there. Alice had a vision that Edward and Bella would be in trouble and would then go to the house. Carlisle checked Bella out at once. Once accessing that Bella would be fine, he returned to the other vampires who were discussing the ghost at Bella’s house. Bella stayed on the couch after much insisting from Carlisle. Edward even had some say in her staying put on the couch.
“Any idea of how the ghost got into the house?” Carlisle asked as he entered the next room.
“Or how long it has been there?” Esme asked.
“It must have followed either Bella or Charlie in. I’m assuming it was on Friday since I never seen it before. “ Edward said.
“And it just attacked her? Was Charlie anywhere near by?” Alice asked.
“No. He had already gone to work.” Edward answered, “I can’t let Bella go back into her house alone. It had her pinned to the floor, unable to breathe.”
“What about Charlie?”
Everyone looked up to see Bella standing in the door way. Her voice was barely auditable.
“What if the ghost attacks him too?” Bella asked.
“From what it seems, the ghost only wants to harm you.” Edward said as he walked over to Bella’s side, “it’ll be fine. We will make it go away.”
With the ability to read minds, Edward read Carlisle’s and seemed to get upset.
“What do you mean we can’t kill it?” Edward asked.
“It’s a ghost, Edward. It’s already dead and I’m afraid there is no body for us to kill.” Carlisle answered.
“Maybe there is some way for us to convince it to leave.” Alice said.
“And say what to it,“ Rose asked, “leave the poor human girl alone?”
“We could go over for dinner tonight and see if we can communicate with it.” Said Carlisle, “You father will be home tonight, right?”
Bella nodded, “Yeah, he should be home around 6:00 o’clock.”
“Then I suggest we go grocery shopping.” Alice said as she grabbed Bella’s hand.
