Ashley and I both stand rooted in our spots, wide-eyed, and disbelieving. Then, after a moment, Ashley snaps out of her daze and rushes over to where Sara is crying.
I watch Ashley crawl up into the bed and fold herself around Sara who is still in Kelly’s arms as Jess strokes her back.
Gage: “The jet is going to be here in a few hours.” She says with slow measured tone that carries the weight of her grief on each syllable. “Sara’s family is in Paris making arrangements and I’ve already spoken to Mr. Dooly and we are all welcome to stay at their estate for as long as we need to. I don’t know if you would like to come with us or not…”
Ashley: “Of course I’ll be there.” Ashley says and her grip tightens around Sara.
Spencer: “Yeah, I would like to go as well.” I whisper out.
Gage: “I thought as much. Like I said, the jet will be here in a few hours so if you want to start getting your things packed, do you have a passport?” I shake my head to clear it.
Spencer: “Uh, yeah, it’s in my desk.”
Gage: “Good. We probably won’t arrive in Paris until late tomorrow morning.”
Spencer: “How long are we staying for?”
Gage: “Well,” Her voice drops a little as if she’s only talking for me now. “With the holidays coming up I’ll probably just fly home directly after. We’ll only be missing two days of school and I’ve already talked to Cleeden and he said that it would be fine if we just blew Monday through Wednesday off.”
Spencer: “Yeah.” I say in a haze. “I’ll start getting our things together, okay Ash?” She silently nods her head against Sara’s legs as her gaze appraises me and I walk over to my closet and grab my suitcase and start throwing clothes in.
After I stuff the old beat-up green suitcase, I move over to Ashley’s closet and sneak a peek at Sara and Kelly’s bed. Gage is sitting on the edge rubbing Sara’s feet, Ashley is still wrapped tightly around Sara’s long legs watching my movements, Jess is rubbing her back with one hand, and Kelly still has Sara sobbing into her sweater with her completely engulfed in her arms.

Tamara101-saw your post after I posted the story. Sorry, it took me longer than I thought to post, I’m in the process of writing three different stories for this site and I’m about to start filming a movie- and I work today…I’m not perfect u know! jk…but feel free to tell me I am!

wow i actually feel sad now that i’ll never meet sara’s mom. and you did the mikey character nicely. i want him to give me a bear hug now :) how can sara and mikey possibly be tking their mom’s death so well? geez, that’s gotta be crazy. i can’t wait to see who is going to give in first, but my bet is on spencer because ashley i just so damn persistent. pms please!

Wow! Seems like I wasn’t the only one expecting rude Spashleyness in this chapter! That said, I loved it anyway! With just the briefest introduction I’ve already fallen in love with Sara’s family and really felt their loss. Again you have introduced some potentially awsome original characters. I know I’ve said it before but it really adds depth to any fic and when it’s done well…yes I do mean you!….it sets them apart from the compettition….and I must say I’m looking forward to the burlesque club….always wanted to go but not got round to it yet!! Awaiting your next post…whatever it may be…with bated breath! Oh, and your one shot/short story sounds intriguing…Bring It On!!!
