Spencer packed her bag and was patiently waiting for Ashley to arrive. She waited in her room because her mom and dad were talkin in the living room so she wanted to avoid Paula for as long as possible. She only had to wait about 3 minutes before Ashley texted her.

‘hey babe, im in ur drive. -ash’
‘coming -spence’

And with that Spencer took her stairs two at a time, hoping to make a quick escape. However, Paula stopped her.

   "Spencer, where do you think you are going?"
   "Umm, I’m staying at Ashley’s tonight." She tried running out the door but Paula stepped in her way.
   "To hell you are. You are staying here tonight. I will not let you go with that girl."
   "That girl is Ashley. And I AM going over there tonight whether you like it or not mother." Spencer and Paula ended up screaming at each other. Paula kept screaming how Spencer was not going with that girl and how bad she was. Spencer kept screaming that she was and Ashley was good for her.

MEANWHILE in the car.

Ashley has been sitting in Spencer’s drive for about five minutes now. She’s starting to get worried and is getting ready to text Spencer again, but before she can even pull out her cell she hears screaming. She can hear Paula’s hateful words and Spencer’s pleading cries.

   "damn it, Paula. If you hurt her or make her cry I swear." Ashley said to herself as she stepped out of the car. She headed towards the door and the yelling increased. She is practically running towards it. She doesnt even bother to knock she just bursts through it, nearly knocking Paula down since she was standing in front of the door.

   "Ashley!" spencer cries and runs over to the brunette, grasping her in a desperate hug. Ashley held on to her dearly. She wished she could erase the pain away.
   "Ssshhh, Spence. It’s okay. I’m here. Everything will be okay. I swear it to you." Ashley whispered while rubbing Spencer’s tears off of her face with her thumb. She lifted Spencers chin so she was looking Ashley in the eyes. "I’m here now okay. I’m not leaving you." Spencer just nodded and before she could respond Ashley was pulled out of her arms by Paula.
   "You slut. Dont you dare touch my daughter. Dont you dare make her one of you. Dont corrupt her. You’re just going to hurt her in the end."
   "You would know how to hurt her wouldnt you Paula. You bitch, you slapped your own daughter, you made your own daughter cry. What kind of mother are you, huh? What kind of mother puts their own daughter through pain? You should feel proud of yourself, making her cry." The only reaction Paula had was to raise her hand to threaten the shorter brunette. She was about to swing when Arthur grabbed her arm.
   "Dont you dare Paula. Cant you see what your doing? Youre ruining her life, youre making her feel worthless." He looked towards Spencer and Ashley "Go on girls, I’ll handle her."
   "Thanks, Mr.C. I’ll take care of her."
   "I know Ashley. I know." Ashley grabbed Spencers hand and walked them to her car. She opened the door for Spencer and got in herself. She pulled out of the drive.
   "Where do you wanna go? Back to my place?" Spencer didnt say anything she just nodded. "Okay sweetie." Ashley reached over to intertwine their fingers and squeezed Spencer’s hand reassuringly. "Spence, baby, how are you doing?"
   "She..she..she tried to hit you Ashley. She tried to cause you pain. How could she do that? How could she even think about it." Spencer was shaking her head. "To someone like you, how could someone try and do that to someone like you? This doesnt make any sense. She knows how much I care about you, this is the only time I’ve stood up to her, doesnt that say something? If she wouldve hit you, I dont know what I would’ve done, ash. I wouldve lost it. If she ever causes you pain, I swear, ash, I swear."
   "Ssshh, Spencer. Its okay. She didnt hit me. Its okay. Your dads going to talk to her. She’ll calm down, just give her time. Come on, lets go inside." The girls headed inside and upstairs to Ashleys room. Spencer flopped onto her bed laying on her stomach, her head buried in a pillow. She was softly sobbing. Ashley laid beside her and rubbed her back. Waiting for her cries to subside. Spencer sat up and looked Ashley in her eyes.
   "Thanks."
   "for what?"
   "Standing up for me. Coming to get me. Saving me."
   "No thanks needed. I’d do it again in a heartbeat, Spencer."
   "You’re my knight in shining armor." Spencer said blushing and putting her head down.
   "Hey, look at me." spencer did. "I’m glad to be your knight in shining armor. I’m glad to have the honor of saving you, of catching your tears and making them disappear. You never have to doubt that Spence. I’m always here to save you." She kissed Spencer on her forehead. "Are you tired?"
Spencer yawned. "Yeah, a little."
   "Go get changed, and we’ll go to bed." Spencer did as she was told. When she came back from getting changed, Ashley had already done so and was waiting in the bed. She lifted to covers for Spencer as she got in. Ashley wrapped her arms around Spencer as Spencers head laid on her chest. She kissed in the top of her head.
   "Goodnight baby."
   "Night Ash."
