As she closed her phone, Ashley noticed that she felt a little better. She had to admit that Aiden was right, she needed to get out her room, get some air, spend a few hours attempting to forget about her situation with Spencer. Now all she needed was the perfect outfit.

“A party?”
“Yeah, it can’t happen unless you’re there.”
“I doubt that very seriously,” Spencer said as she twirled a loose strand of hair around her finger.
“Come on, Spencer…it’ll get your mind off of Ashley,” Aiden pleaded.
“Who says that my mind is on her in the first place?” Spencer countered, her mood shifting just at the mention of the girl’s name.
“It’s ok to admit that you miss her.”
“It doesn’t matter if I miss her. She slept with someone else the same night we broke up, Aiden. And she didn’t seem to have too much trouble rubbing it in my face either,” Spencer replied, remembering how hurt she was by Ashley’s betrayal.
“Hey, I’m never gonna be the one to try to convince you that Ashley’s a saint here, ok? She messed up—big time. And I’m not asking you to forget about it or forgive her or anything. All I want is for you to come to the party, have a little fun. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone else.”
“I’m not ready for that yet.”
“Fine, no one’s making you go out and sleep with all of West Hollywood. I just want you at my house at nine o’clock. Can I add you to the V.I.P. list or what?”
Spencer considered her options. She could spend the night at home again, playing video games with Glen. Or she could tag along with Clay and Chelsea for the night. Then of course, there was always the option of listening to her dad go on and on about work and avoiding the subject of her mother.
“I’ll be there.”

Aiden knew he was taking a big risk by lying to Ashley and Spencer. It’s just that, he had seen the sadness in the girls’ eyes, watched them avoid each other, and comforted both for the past couple of weeks and he knew that nothing would be resolved unless they talked to each other. He also knew that there was a big chance that they would see each other and leave with nothing resolved at all. However, it was a chance he was willing to take for the sake of a possibly happy reunion.

Oh I’m so happy now!! Ashley better say something to sweep this girl off of her feet! I mean of course I don’t expect Spencer to take Ashley back right away, hell I know I wouldn’t!
