    Spencer attempts to deal with Lindsay; Ashley competes. Oh, and there’s talk of pancakes.

    Spencer felt herself give in to the kiss, her lips pressing softly against Lindsay’s.

    “Wait…” she said finally, breaking from the kiss and grabbing Lindsay’s shoulders to steady herself.

    “Spencer, we don’t have to stop, you know? I can tell that you like me. And obviously I like you. Tell me why we can’t be together.”

    “Because!” Spencer yelled, frustrated with Lindsay’s choice to ignore the obvious, “I’m with Ashley! She’s my girlfriend and I love her.”

    “Is that why you kissed me?”

    “You kissed me!”

    “And you didn’t seem to mind,” Lindsay replied, her eyes never leaving Spencer’s.

    “It doesn’t matter. I’m with someone and that’s it. I’m not that girl, ok? I’m not that girl who goes out and cheats on someone they love.”

    “So in other words, you’re not Ashley,” Lindsay said as she slipped the dress off and searched for her shorts.

    “What are you talking about?”

    “Aiden told me about what Ashley did…you know, cheating with that girl and all. You’re too good for that Spencer. You could do so much better.”

    “No…no, I couldn’t. Ashley is incredible. If anything, I don’t deserve her.”

    “Holy shit, this girl has really got you wrapped around her finger, doesn’t she?”

    “You don’t know anything about us, Lindsay. Nothing, so stay out of my relationship. What Ashley or I do is completely none of your business.”

    “Listen, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I just know what I felt a second ago. And I know that you felt it too. It’s hard for me to just go on being your friend when I know the whole time that when I kiss you…it’s perfect.”

    “That kiss…that kiss was a really…nice…moment for us. But that’s all. Just a nice moment between two friends and it will never, ever happen again.”

    “A moment between two friends?” Lindsay asked with a grin she couldn’t suppress.

    “What? Yeah! A really nice moment, that’s all.”

    “Ok, Spence. Whatever you want. I just don’t want to lose my friendship with you.”

    “I’m not going anywhere. I’m just not going anywhere close to your mouth either.”

    Lindsay laughed and nodded, “I can live with that.”

    Spencer smiled, but she was busy wondering if she could live with that.
