We both look up and jump on our feet to practically run to the person who called out her name. I know who it is, it’s Dr. Evans. He’s one of the best trauma surgeons in the country which made me feel a little better. Before I can make my mouth work, Kyla blurts out, “How is she? She’s going to be okay, right?”
We both look at him hopefully but he just sighs quietly and motions for us to sit down again. I have a bad feeling again. My heart is threatening to burst out of my chest. As soon as we sit down I ask fearfully, “Tell us. How is she?”
Dr. Evans takes a deep breath and begins, “Ms. Davies sustained substantial internal injuries. The bullet nicked her liver and basically destroyed her spleen. We repaired her liver and removed her spleen but she lost a lot of blood.”
“She survived the surgery, right?” I immediately ask as my heart begins to throb uncontrollably. From what he’s saying I know exactly how things might stand. She either died on the table because they couldn’t stop the bleeding or she’s in extremely critical condition in the ICU. God, please let it be the latter. Please.
“Yes, she survived. Barely, but she did. We had an extremely difficult time stopping the bleeding. She seems to be quite the fighter. We are still giving her blood transfusions to replace the blood she’s lost and we will be monitoring her very closely to make sure we didn’t miss anything,” Dr. Evans says quietly
Kyla and I just nod our heads. A really small part of me sighs in relief but I know this is no where near over. She can still develop serious complications. Dr. Evans snaps me out of my thoughts when he looks at me and says, “Dr. Carlin, I don’t need to tell you what the next 72 hours mean, right?”
“No you don’t, Dr. Evans. Thank you for everything.” I respond quietly standing up and shaking his hand.
Kyla looks at me for an explanation and I just grab her hand and give it what I hope is a reassuring squeeze. It seems to do the trick because she then asks, “Can we see her now?”

GAH! I’m so happy I could cry! Sorry I didn’t comment on the last one, I just caught up on these last 2 updates and I gotta say…I hope Aiden’s dead. I know it’s a horrible thing to say but, that bastard deserves it for all the hell he’s put Ashley through. Not to mention Spencer and Kyla, they’ve been out of they’re minds, but especially Spencer. SO kill Aiden soon please, slow and painfully like Spashfan-9 said. Then maybe we can offically have Spashley and they can be happy and carefree for a little while, PLEASE!!! Ok, I’m done rambling, PMASAP!!!!!!!!!

great update. i loved all of spencer’s confessions at ashley’s bedside. i wonder is ash will remember any of it. this was a great update…like amazing. thanks.
