“But that’s the biggest honor ever. You’re father would be proud of you.”

“You think so?”

“Ash, I know so. He would love to see you like this. Writing amazing songs for amazing artists. Have you ever thought of putting out your own album?”

“It’s crossed my mind a few times. But I could never put out my own album. I would never be happy with it.”

“But it’d be amazing. You’d be amazing.”

“I dunno. I’ll think about it.” On that note Spencer nestled her head back on my chest and we continued to watch TV.

The next day we had the dinner with RCA. I couldn’t believe that all of this was becoming such a big deal. It was the release of Clarkson’s fifth album. It’s not like it was something new. But to some people she must’ve meant a whole lot. Right now the only thing that meant a whole lot to me was making it through the dinner tomorrow night with Spencer by my side.

I went to work, same as every weekday. Got some lunch around eleven. And then I headed into the studio to do some recording with a band that Mark had “Found” as he put it. They were pretty good. But they were still new to the game. I didn’t see any true potential in them. They just didn’t have that true chemistry that you see in great bands.

After a long four hours of recording I finally went home to Spencer. I had to admit, coming home to her was always wonderful. No matter how my day went she would always make it better. When I got home I actually didn’t really want to go to dinner, but I had promised Spencer and of course the execs at RCA. I shut my apartment door behind me, “Spence, I’m home.”

She came slowly strutting out of the bedroom, “Well, what do you think?”

My jaw dropped. My eyes were bulging out of my head and a fire seemed to grow between my legs, “Oh…my…god.”

She strutted up to me, “I figured you’d say that.”

I ran my hands down her sides, “Perfect fit.”
