"I still have to think about it some, but I think that I would like to be friends with Ashley again.  I miss her as my best friend.  Well my dad is calling for dinner.  Thanks for talking to me."

"Anytime Spencer and I hope that everything works out between you and Ashley."  We hang up and I go into the kitchen to eat dinner.  We all sit around talking about our days when Glen says something we have not really talked about,

"Dad, I have only one more month before I leave for the army.  We need to talk about some things."

"After dinner Glen."  My dad says and I can see that he has been avoiding that subject.  Glen nods and dinner goes on quietly.  We finish and I go into my room to do some homework.  I hear my phone ring and I look to see who it is.  It’s Ashley, apparently she doesn’t think I will call her.  Do I answer?  It might be an emergency.

"Hello?"

"Spencer sorry to call, but I just passed your mom and she was not looking so good.  Do you want me to take her somewhere or have your dad come pick her up?"  Shit, mom ruins everything again.  What to do, what to do?

"I guess I will have my dad pick her up.  He will know what to do with her.  Where are you?"  She tells me and I wonder what not only my mom, but Ashley is doing out there.

"Why are out there?"  Might as well get it out.

"Spencer I will tell you later, right now you need to get your dad out here.  I am not your mother’s favorite person remember."

"Right I will go tell him, you just stay put."

"Sure."  I can tell she is grumpy about it, but I go and get my dad.  I tell him what is going on and he takes my phone to talk to Ashley some.  He gives it back and goes to get mom.

"So how is she doing?"  I ask.

"She just threw up on my brand new shoes, so I guess she should be feeling better."  I blush at her answer.

"I am so sorry Ashley."

"Well, at least I get to hang out with one Carlin tonight.  It might not be the one I want, but I will make due."  She makes it so hard sometimes. 

"Ashley…"

"I know, I know don’t talk like that.  You are still trying to decide what to do."  I hear the disappointment in her voice.

"Ashley I have come to a decision."

"What?  Really?  What is it?"  She can be cute when she is desperate.

"Well…"

"Paula, what have you done to yourself."  My dad interrupts in the background.  He must have gotten there. Why does my family have the worst timing.

Sorry its short, but I am having some writers block.  What is Spencer’s decision?  Is she going to take Ashley back?  I know that is what everyone wants.  I am going to be ending this story in a few chapters, so we will see if it is a happy ending or not.  Thanks for reading.
