South of Somewhere – (Chapter: Chapter Six- Under The Influence)
Spencer spent somewhere around an hour introducing herself and being introduced to various people around the home. She avoided drinking anything as she doubted it would take much to get her drunk with such an empty stomach. Eventually she ended up sitting alone, back against the wall as she just watched the people socializing. Why couldn’t she just have normal, healthy relationships?
Her self pity was interrupted by the thunk sound of Samantha sitting down beside her. “Heyyy!” She greeted with a wide smile, leaning into her shoulder a bit. She was just close enough for Spencer to be able to smell the hint of alcohol on her breath. “Um… Hi.” She always felt slightly uncomfortable around intoxicated people, seeing as for her being drunk always ended very badly. “You look sad.” Sam informed her bluntly, but always smiling nonetheless.
Spencer shrugged slightly, “I’m not… Well that was a lie, but it doesn’t matter, I’m fine.” She assured the cheery girl, wishing she could absorb a bit of that optimistic energy. It wasn’t like her to feel so depressed, so naturally, being depressed was a bit… Depressing. “Why are ya sad Spence?” The girl inquired, brows creasing together, “I don’t really want to talk about it.” Spencer spoke, lifting her hand and brushing it through her hair.
“Your too pretty to be sad.” Samantha assured her, her hand resting idly on Spencer’s thigh. “Much, much to pretty.” Now Spencer just felt downright uncomfortable. “Erm. Thanks.” She replied, shifting her leg just enough to cause the hand to fall from her jean mini-skirt to the floor. Her eyes looked around the room, trying to find some excuse to get up and leave.
“I like you a lot.” That caught her attention as she looked back at Samantha, her adrenaline pumping as she shifted a little bit away from her, “I appreciate that, but I just got out of a weird relationship and I don’t really think I’m rea-“ She would have kept talking but Samantha’s clumbsy lips had enclosed hers. She tasted like bad gin and maybe a hint of potatoe chips. It repulsed Spencer, and to top it off she felt like she was cheating on Ashley, even if they weren’t together. Doing a odd backwards crab-like walk on her hands she quickly moved away from Samantha, her hand lifting to cover her mouth.
“I’ve got to go.” She spoke hurriedly as she rose to her feet, feeling a bit violated. Samantha also stood, her hand reaching towards her, “Hey, don’t be afraid. You said you were gay, right?” Spencer took a step backwards, her head shaking side to side, “I’m sorry, but I barely know you.” Even in her current state of mind Sam looked embarrassed as she rubbed the back of her neck, “At least let me take you home.” She offered, just to watch Spencer shake her head again.
Spencer was already making a bee line for the door, looking back only briefly. “No really, it’s okay. I’ll walk.” She then sped out the door, shutting it quickly behind her before she could catch Sam’s reply. If she wanted to walk home it was going to be a hell of a long walk. Feeling out her cell phone in her pocket she ran through a mental list of all the people she could call to pick her up. Obviously her parents were out, Glen and Clay were also excluded, she didn’t need their little over protective big brother guilt trips, Aiden was out because… Well, she currently was fostering a deep resentment towards Aiden. That left her with one choice, and as she dialed the number into her cell and hit send, she could only hope that the girl on the other end would be awake at this hour to answer.

This is going to be it for me tonight. You can expect to see more tomorrow evening. Enjoy. ^^ Also, I’d like to express my gratitude for all of the positive comments I’ve recieved. Being the attention whore that I am, I feed off of your compliments like a pedophile feeds on small children. What can I say, I am a predator. Hah. Love you all, as long as I get positive results I will keep posting.

I love your story! I’m so glad that Spencer didn’t feel like she could cheat on the woman she loved so much, even though they were broke up! Great story telling!
