    You weren’t promising anything or trying to fix me.

    “Oh Spence, I love your naive side.” She said kissing my cheek. “I am going to run our clothes through the wash and dryer so we at least have something to wear home.”

     

    “Hey!  I am not considered a groupie am I?” I called after her as she headed down the hall.

    She turned and smiled at me. “You are the only groupie I will ever need.”

    I laughed.  “That was totally cheesy Ash.”

    “Yeah but you love the cheese, Spence.” She said with a wink and continued back down the hall.  My heart surged.  She was right, I totally loved the cheese and I had perma-grin knowing I was the only groupie she ever needed.  God, I was pathetic.  I went back into the bathroom and finished cleaning up the toothpaste I had spit everywhere.

     

    I was walking down the hall to try and find Ashley when I her yell my name in a panicked tone.  I sprinted toward her voice my heart racing.  I found her in the large front living room.

     

    “Ash, what wrong?!” I gasped.

     

    “Do you realize what time it is?  It is only 6:23 in the damn morning and I have already been up for like an hour.  We should be sleeping right now.” She said to me in a shocked voice.

     

    I narrowed my eyes at her. “Jesus, Ash you scared the crap out of me.  You yelled my name like that and I though something was wrong.”

     

    “Well there is.  What is wrong is that it is early and we have had about three and a half hours of sleep.” she continued.  I continued to scowl at her.

     

    “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” She said sheepishly. “Do you think we could take a nap while the clothes are washing?”  I laughed and shook my head.  I knew she wasn’t a morning person.  She grabbed my hand and led me to one of the bedrooms.  She flopped down and patted for me to come lay beside her.

     

    I hesitated. “This isn’t a groupie bed is it?” I wasn’t too sure if I wanted be that close and personal with Raife’s bandmates. 

     

    Ashley laughed.  “No, this is my own personal room so you are safe.”
