The Odyssey of Me – (Chapter: Spence's World: Party Time, Not Excellent!)
Finally, Ashley is in the car, and they are on their way to Aiden’s for the party.
“Sorry bout that, Glen can be a real asshole.”
“Its cool…hard to be offended since he’s right…I am fiiinnne!” Ashley says feigning egotism.
“Amazin’, I think I can actually see your head gettin’ bigger!” Spencer jokes.
Both Laugh
“You’re still pretty though!” Spencer adds.
“Aww thanks Spence!” Ashley says, smiling at him.
Ashley pulls into Aiden’s. There’re cars parked everywhere, they hear loud music coming from inside the house. Glen and Clay pull in right behind them. They make sure Spencer gets out of the car and into his chair okay. Then, the four of them join the party.
As soon as Ashley opens the door, Aiden was there to greet them. He says enthusiastically. It is apparent that he’s slightly buzzed.
“You’re late.” He jokes with Ashley.
“Only by a half hour besides, you know me, fashionably late, but always worth the wait!”
Aiden can’t do anything other than smile. Ashley’s comment also makes the Carlin boys chuckle.
“C’mon in guys, glad ya could make it.” Aiden tells the boys.
He and Ashley hug. Then fist bumps Spencer and Clay before joining Glen in a complicated weird secret basketball player’s only handshake. Ashley, Spencer, and Clay laugh at them. Then, Clay and Glen bolt, Clay in search of Chelsea, and Glen in search of pretty much any girl with a pulse.
Twenty Minutes Later, Aiden, Ashley, and Spencer have been talking.
“I’ll be back…I gotta mingle…make sure everyone’s havin’ a good time.” Aiden tells Ashley, and Spencer leaving the two alone.
They don’t care that Aiden is going they’re more than happy enjoying each others company. They’re somewhat in their own little world, hanging out over by the right wall of the living room/ party central.
“How ya doin’ so far, Spence? Ashley enquires.
“I’m ok.” He answers.
Ashley is relieved to know her friend isn’t feeling anxious at the moment.
“Do ya want me to go grab us some drinks?” She asks.
“I don’t drink.” He answers, jokingly adding …I’m messed up enough already, but you can… just remember you’re my ride.” Spencer reminds her.
“Nah, that’s ok…I’m not thirsty now anyways…I’ll go see if Aide has any soda later.” Ashley says.
