    South Of Nowhere – 2.16 – Things Meant To Be

     

     

     

                Spencer threw herself on her bed, exhausted for some unknown reason, well, if truth be told, her mother had totally exhausted her.  Glen had seemed totally distracted after learning of Madison’s pregnancy.  Spencer couldn’t exactly blame him.  How many scenarios might Glen have been running through his head?

     

                Beep.

     

                Spencer looked up, blue eyes wide.  Oh god, she’d forgotten about Ashley!  Grabbing her laptop, gallantly returned by her father the day before, she pulled it up onto her lap and typed.

     

    Spence:  Hello stranger.

     

    Ash: Where were you?  I’ve been waiting, and waiting…

     

    Spence:  I’m so sorry!  My mom soft of was going the whole, ‘I’m a good mom’, routine – So whatcha doing? 

     

    Ash:  Waiting for this gorgeous chic…

    Spence:  UR already checking out other chics!

     

    Ash: What R U talking about?  I was waiting 4 U!  I miss U.

     

    Spence:  I knew you were talking about me, I miss U 2…  So…

     

                Neither of them typed for a few minutes, then Ashley, was in her bed, wearing barely anything.  Finally, Ashley was starting to wonder if Spence was okay.

     

    Ash:  Spence?  R U ok?

     

    Spence:  I don’t know what to talk about… isn’t that dumb?  We’re best friends, and now I don’t know what 2 talk 2 U about…  this is silly, so has UR mom been around lately?

     

    Ash:  Yeah, bugging on me, she was hitting on Aiden when he was here… I wish she’d just poof and be gone, U know?  Then she’s got her moments, which R like, far and in between…

     

    Spence:  My mom didn’t mention U 2nite @ all, which was really weird… I know she saw us…

     

    Ash:  What R U wearing?

     

    Spence: Huh?

     

    Ash:  What.  Are.  You.  Wearing?

     

                Spencer looked around the room, getting up and closing the door, locking it quietly, and slipping her shorts off.  Feeling vulnerable, for some odd reason, she slid under her covers, as if hiding. 

     

    Spence:  Clothes?

     

    Ash: K, never mind…

     

    Spence:  NO!  Baby steps!  What RU wearing?
