Bella stared at the two men, face ashen and eyes welling with tears. If her life didn't revolve around the impossible, she wouldn't have believed her eyes. This would be pushed off as some strange dream, or perhaps she was even still in the hospital, recovering from the accident. However, her life did revolve around the impossible, so Bella knew this had to be real, or at least some strange fantasy Seer pushed her into.
“Bella,” Vincent said softly. He looked a little uneasy, and it took Bella a moment to realize why. She blushed when she remembered the kiss they had shared right before he sacrificed himself to save her. “It's been a while.”
Edward noticed the blush on his Bella's cheeks, and he glared at this newcomer. He wasn't sure who the vampire was, or how he knew Bella, but he knew he didn't like the redhead. It didn't help that his eyes were topaz instead of burgundy. This vampire didn't eat humans then, at least not anymore if he had in the beginning, which meant Bella would be, or rather would've been, safe around him. Even if they were alone.
The oldest of the Cullens “children” shuddered at the thought of his girlfriend alone with this man. The vampire was obviously older than him, and he didn't look too attractive in Edward's case, not that he had ever been one to notice another man's beauty, but who knew what was going on in Bella's mind? Edward trusted her, he really did, it was this newcomer he didn't trust. And the way this Vincent looked at Bella only made Edward's dislike strengthen.
“Wha? How?” Bella looked between the two. Tears now ran freely down her face, and she seemed to have forgotten the others presence.
Tenzie, who had remained silent thus far, stepped forward now with a gentle smile. He touched Bella's shoulder, ignoring the tensing puppies behind him, especially the puppy who was looking at his hand with malice. Of the vampires, Tenzie guessed Edward was the one who had switched his glare from Vincent to him when he made contact with Bella.
Bella jumped at feeling Tenzie's hand on her shoulder. She wasn't sure she really wanted to touch the two men because she was afraid they would disappear if she made contact. To feel his strong hand on her shoulder only made this all the more real, and Bella couldn't stop herself from flinging her arms around the taller man's neck (this would have failed had she not learned to jump relatively high over the months).
