To Spashley With Love – (Chapter: Chapter Nine)
Ashley pulled up in the King High parking lot. “We came so early the janitors aren’t here,” Ashley joked.
“No, we haven’t,” I responded. It’s not that early. Ashley and I got out of her Porsche.
“Where’s my present?” demanded Ashley. A smile formed on my lips.
“For someone who doesn’t like birthdays, someone is eager to get her present,” I responded. I did say you would get it later and I am a girl of my world. Ashley chuckled.
“Yes, I am,” stated Ashley as she pulled into the King High parking lot. It is later, Spencer. There has to be a reason why you got me up early, right?
“Yeah, there is,” I said as I took her by the hand. You’ll see.
“So where are we going?” asked Ashley with curiosity.
“Do you always ask so many questions?” I laughed.
“Yes, I tend to ask many questions when I woke up at 6:45 in the morning,” responded Ashley. I chuckled and led Ashley to the elevator. What floor?
“The rooftop,” I stated simply.
“Okay, but aren’t you afraid of heights?” asked a confused Ashley.
“Yeah,” I answered. It seemed like it took an eternity to get to the rooftop. Well, here we are.
“All I see is a rooftop,” said a puzzled Ashley.
“I know,” I replied. It’s about the significance. B-because of you, I’ve been able to conquer one of my biggest fears. Before I met you, I wouldn’t have thought of coming up here. Here is your birthday cake. I handed Ashley a Hostess cupcake. I…I know that it’s not much…
“No, the fact that you remembered my birthday and the thought is enough for me,” stated Ashley as she took the cupcake. Do you want some?
“No, it’s yours,” I responded. Ashley took a piece of the cupcake and put it in my mouth. I don’t know if the cupcake tasted good because it actually was good or just because Ashley touched it… Ashley ate the cupcake. This isn’t your gift though.
“I know,” said Ashley. I’m getting my gift later.
“You got it,” I replied.
Later on, I was by my locker when Glen came up to me. “Spencer, I have to talk to you,” stated Glen with a sigh.
