To Spashley With Love – (Chapter: Chapter Nine)
“What’s up?” I asked.
“I’m here to let you know that nothing’s changed,” answered Glen with a sigh. Just because the lesbo broke my arm doesn’t mean I like the fact you still hang out with her. She wants to be more.
“I know,” I stated.
“Why don’t you date Derek?” asked Glen. Maybe if I pay him, he may consider dating my dorky sister.
“Derek?” I laughed. You don’t even like the guy and you’re telling me to go out with him? Boys aren’t my type. They never were. Girls are my type, more importantly Ashley.
“Do you hear yourself?’ asked an angry Glen. You’re going to go to hell for this.
“So I’m going to hell for being in love with a girl, but you’re going to heaven for premarital sex?” I retorted.
“You know what…” Glen grabbed my wrist.
“Glen, let go of me!” I yelled.
“Take back what you said,” said Glen angrily.
“No,” I replied simply. Glen was about to kick me when Ashley appeared.
“What do you think you’re doing to her?” asked an angry Ashley. I gave you a clear warning that next time your arm wasn’t all that I would break, Glen. Ashley began to hit Glen repeatedly.
“Ashley, stop it!” I said. I pulled Ashley away. W-what’s wrong with you, Ash? I know he’s an asshole, but he’s still my brother.
“He has no right to treat you that way,” explained Ashley. You shouldn’t be treated like you’re gum stuck on his shoe, Spence.
“I am gum from Glen’s shoe,” I sighed. I’m just his mediocre sister.
“You’re anything, but mediocre,” stated Ashley.
“You’re the only person one whole planet who thinks that,” I responded. I don’t even know why you think so highly of me, Ashley. I don’t even think that highly of me.
“You got to think highly of yourself because there’s gonna be a lot of people in the world who are going to build you up and others who will tear you down,” sighed Ashley.
“I know,” I agreed. My Mom always told me I wouldn’t own up to anything. Glen was her favorite since he was the basketball star. I would never go out on the dates with the guys she had set me up with.
“You shouldn’t listen to them,” stated Ashley.
“If life were that simple,” I sighed. So for your birthday, I was thinking I would take you out to dinner.
“You don’t have to do that,” said Ashley.
“I want to though,” I replied.
“You know what I want that would make my birthday perfect?” asked Ashley.
“What?” I smiled. A million dollars?
“No, even better, the best birthday gift ever would be if you would go out on a date with me,” responded Ashley simply.
Wow, she totally caught me off guard. “Wow,” I said surprised. Look, Ash I don’t think you’re aiming high enough.
“What are you talking about?” asked Ashley.
“I could get you a pony or something,” I answered.
“I don’t want a pony,” stated Ashley. I want you, Spencer. Ashley pulled me closer to her and kissed me on the lips.
