    Untitled – (Chapter: Chapter Eighteen)

Ashley and Spencer were hanging out in Spencer’s room.  “So what’s your most disgusting food combination?” Ashley questioned with curiosity.

    “That’s random,” responded Spencer amused.

“I happen to be a very random girl,” Ashley pointed out with a chuckle.

“Are you trying to lighten up the mood?” asked Spencer.

“Maybe I am,” Ashley answered.  Spencer gave Ashley a look and Ashley continued, “Alright, so I am.  I hate seeing you unhappy.  When your face lights up, it brightens up my world.  So what is it, Spence?

“It’s a really weird,” explained Spencer.  We haven’t dated long for you to know that since it might repulse you.

“That good, huh?” Ashley joked.  It can’t be that bad.  So if we were just best friends would you tell me?  Look, I’ll tell you my most disgusting food combination if that makes you feel any better.  Mine is dipping French fries in my coca-cola.

“Are you serious?” laughed Spencer.  Wouldn’t that make the fry soggy though?

“I don’t soak the whole fry in the coke,” Ashley explained simply.

“Alright,” responded Spencer.  There was a knock on the door and Spencer said, “Go away, mother!”

    “It’s me, Glen,” he said.

“Come in,” Spencer replied.  Glen opened the door and entered Spencer’s room.

“I snuck in some food for you two from the barbeque,” Glen began as he handed each girl a plate with food.

“Thanks,” responded Spencer.  I owe you one.

“I’ll just put it on your tab,” Glen stated.  Look, I just want to apologize for how Mom acted towards you and Ashley today.  It was really out of line of her… to just…

“It’s whatever,” said Spencer.  People can’t change overnight and it’s not any different with Mom.

“For the record, she was beginning to except you and Ashley as a couple,” Glen explained.  I don’t know what happened to make her act so weird again.

“I know what happened,” sighed Spencer.  Mother can be accepting when it’s only a few people around, but when other people influence her she follows their opinion instead of thinking for herself.

“Just give her time,” Glen said.  I have to get back to the reunion.  Glen left the room.

“So do you want to know how weird my food combination is?” questioned Spencer with curiosity.
